Candidates who have appeared in AIAPGET-2017 can apply for admission to PG (Unani) course at this institute for the session 2017. 2. The institute is offering PG in the following 8 disciplines: 1. The number of seats to be allotted to candidates would be 47 out of which 6 seats are reserved for Central Govt. Nominees-04 and Foreign Nominees-02. Admission will be made purely on merit basis by following the seat matrix. 5. For non creamy layer OBC candidates, the OBC certificate prescribed by Govt. of India issued within 6 months from the date of counselling shall only be considered. 6. OBC candidates are informed to obtain fresh OBC certificate from competent authority, if, it is more than 6 month old from the date of counselling, failure to submit such certificate they will not be considered for reserve seats and considered as General candidate subject to their position in the merit list displayed by this institute. 7. Candidates are directed to submit their application form in Annexure-1 and email the same along with the following scanned documents on or before 09/10/2017 on the e-mail ID niumadmission2017@gmail.com (E-mail received after 12.00 night of 09/10/2017 will not be accepted) and hard copy of the same along with necessary enclosures be submitted by post/hand on or before 12/10/2017 to The Convener, Admission Committee, National Institute of Unani Medicine, Bangalore. 1. Registration fee for counseling General - 1500/- OBC - 1500/- SC/ST - 1000/- Fee has to be remitted by means of D.D drawn on any Nationalized bank in favour of NIUM, Bangalore payable at Bangalore. 8. Date of counselling will be announced on website. Candidates are instructed to visit institute website for the said information. 9. At the time of counselling the candidate has to produce all the original documents for verification, failure to which the candidature shall be rejected. 10. Admission of candidates is subject to approval from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, Bangalore. 11. Admission Procedure: (i) (ii) (iii) The Admission Committee shall scrutinize all the application forms The eligible candidates shall be admitted on the basis of merit, subject to availability of seats. In case more than one candidate securing equal marks in the AIAPGET 2017 then the following criteria will be followed to decide seniority amongst them: 1. Number of attempts taken by the candidate in UG examination (Ascending order) 2. If it is also same then the total percentage secured by the candidate in final Prof/V & IV year (Descending order) 3. If it is also same then the total percentage secured by the candidate in II Prof/III year then I Prof/I year (Descending order) (iv) The vacancies arising out of non-joining of the candidate shall be filled on the basis of merit/waiting list within the stipulated date. Such candidates should join the Institute by the stipulated date only as mentioned in schedule of admission along with prescribed fee. 12. Copies of certificates to be enclosed: (i) Application form duly filled in all respect as per Annexure-I (ii) High school /Secondary or equivalent examination certificate for proof of Date of birth (iii) Marks sheet of all examinations from first to final year/ proof of degree relating to the qualifying examination. (iv) Certificate of 06 months / 12 months compulsory internship/house job after passing the final examination as per eligibility requirements.
(v) Caste certificate in the prescribed format issued by the competent Authority (In case of SC/ST candidates as per the enclosed format (Annex-II). (vi) In case of OBC Candidates Certificate issued by the Competent Authority not later than 6 months old in the prescribed format of Govt. of India mentioning clearly that the candidate does not belong to Creamy layer as per the enclosed format (Annex-III). (vii) Candidates with whole body physical disability ranging above 40% should produce a medical certificate issued by the Chairman State Disability board or any equivalent authority in the field of concerned disability along with the application form. Candidates suffering from hearing disability should compulsorily obtain and produce a BSER (Brain Stem Evoked Response) Audiometry Report from NIMHANS/Manipal Hospital /Government Speech and Hearing Institute, Lingarajpuram, Bangalore or from any other hospital, recognized by the National Disability Board. At the time of counselling, the candidates are required to produce their original medical certificates before a Committee comprising of the Director, NIUM, as Chairman and one of the specialists from the department of Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology and ENT as the case may be. Persons with the disability shall have the same meaning assigned to it in the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection and Rights and Participation) Act 1995 (Central Act 1/1995). The candidates with disability of less than 40% will not be eligible for claiming a seat under Physically Disabled Category. Note: The Physically Disabled candidates who fail to appear before the committee on the day fixed for medical examination will not be eligible for selection of a seat under Physically Disabled quota. (viii) Five copies of recent passport size photographs of the candidate along with the Application Form. (ix) Registration Certificate Important Instructions: 13. Seats shall be allotted to the candidates purely on merit basis only. 14. Candidates failed to appear for the first counselling shall not be allowed for subsequent Counselling, if any 15. No transfer of admission will be allowed to any other college in MD/MS(Unani) Course 16. The Original documents of admitted candidates will remain with Institute till completion of duration of the course & will not be returned in middle for any reason 17. Married students who intend to stay with their family should make their own arrangement outside the campus. NIUM does not provide family hostel accommodation facility. 18. The Hostel accommodation will be provided subject to seat availability both in boys and Girls hostel 19. Admission & hostel fee once paid shall not be refunded, if any candidate/s want/s to leave the course or vacating the hostel for any reason whatsoever 20. The Institute is providing only lodging facility with water and electricity on payment basis to the P.G. Scholars. 21. The hostellers have to make their own arrangements for boarding purpose including man power for cooking, and other requirements etc. 22. Allotment of hostel room is purely the prerogative of NIUM and the candidates shall not have any right over it. 23. Once candidate taken admission shall not be allowed to apply for employment / Joining service while doing the course 24. If any candidate leaves the course in between he/she shall repay the entire stipend received 25. If any candidate applied for job anywhere, during the course, such candidate will not be allowed to join the post till completion of the course. 26.
