A passing audition for any applied study is required for acceptance into the ECSU music program. Auditions should be held during the last semester at the community college or summer session before transferring to ECSU. 2. Auditions will also determine the appropriate level of applied study. 3. All prospective music students will be encouraged to take additional pre-major courses at the community college level. 4. All prospective music students will be required to take pass a music theory placement exam to determine the appropriate level of study in the music theory sequence. 5. Students, on a case-by-case basis, will be advised to take courses specific to their area of concentration or applied study. 6. All music students must earn a C or better in all music classes. 7. Student must take at least four semesters of MUS 101 Recital Attendance. 8. Some music or free electives may have already been completed at the community college.
