There are approximately 46 Orientation Leader positions open to all students. The Orientation Leader application package consists of an information page, application, recommendation form and available schedule. WHAT DO NEW STUDENTS DO AT ORIENTATION? Meet with faculty advisors. Participate in educational programs. Experience the residence hall environment. Explore a diverse selection of student life opportunities. Become familiar with physical aspects of the campus. Interact with a variety of students, faculty, and staff. Become connected to the people, programs, and services at Hamilton College. WHAT IS EXPECTED OF ORIENTATION LEADERS? To serve as a positive role model and as an ambassador of Hamilton College at all times. To acclimate new students to campus and make them feel comfortable and welcome. To accept and carry out all duties and responsibilities as assigned by the NSO Staff To attend all required training sessions. To adhere to College policies and procedures at all times (i.e. dry week). TO HAVE FUN! THE INTERVIEW PROCESS: All applicants must turn in their application form, available schedule sheet, and recommendation form NO LATER THAN 4:00pm ON FRIDAY, MARCH 30, 2007; Based on information obtained from this application package, selected individuals will be asked to participate in a group interview April 2-6, 2007; The final selection of the Student Orientation Leader staff will be announced by Friday, April 13, 2007; All applicants will be notified in writing if they have or have not been selected. Please allow sufficient time for the individual you have selected as a reference to complete the enclosed recommendation form and submit it to the Student Activities Office by the Friday, March 30th deadline.
