The Trinity River Project is transforming the identity of Fort Worth into a bustling, waterfront city.

first ever civil works project to win the Good Neighbor Award for sustainability from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

The Trinity River Vision Authority (TRVA) is the organization responsible for the implementation of the Trinity River Vision (TRV) a master plan for the Trinity River in Fort Worth, Texas. The seeds of this vision are now taking shape before the eyes of the city. While the primary purpose of the project is to provide needed flood protection, it will double the size of the most livable central business district in the nation. The Vision also provides for the creation of new recreational amenities, improved infrastructure, unique public spaces and responsible environmental enhancements. The components TRVA oversees include the creation of Panther Island, a vibrant, pedestrian-oriented, urban waterfront district adjacent to downtown Fort Worth, the expansion of Gateway Park into one of the largest urban-programmed parks in the nation and the enhancement of the river corridor including over 90 userrequested projects along the Trinity Trails. In addition to this, to help attract businesses and entertainment to the district, TRVA is responsible for programming the project s public spaces, including Panther Island Pavilion, a waterfront event venue directly adjacent to downtown Fort Worth hosting concerts, festivals, runs and other exciting events.

Panther Island, the most well-known component of the Trinity River Vision, has triggered a rebirth of the district north of downtown Fort Worth into an urban waterfront community. Flowing canals will be the heart and soul of Panther Island. The catalyst for this exciting urban transformation will be the completion of the publicly-funded portion of the plan limited to environmental cleanup, flood protection and infrastructure improvements (such as new bridges and new or improved roads and trails). As a result of these improvements, Panther Island will emerge with an 800-acre development doubling the size of the central business district and connecting it to the Cultural District and the Stockyards. The more than 10,000 mixed-income residences planned and 12 miles of active urban waterfront including flowing canals and corridors that create uniquely-walkable spaces will give rise to new businesses, trendy restaurants and a booming nightlife. Panther Island s features will give Fort Worth a nationally- competitive edge in attracting a population of culturally-diverse people who desire and seek out an energetic setting to live, work, play and learn.

The Trinity River Promenade will be a system of urban parks connecting lakes, canals and marinas through a network of trails. A new piece of public art will be located at the center of a new modern roundabout. The design of the new Trinity River Promenade will feature several new pedestrian bridges to improve connectivity along the river. PANTHER ISLAND PLUSES Contribute over $3.7 billion in annual economic activity, Support more than 29,000 new jobs, Formation of a 33-acre town lake, Create over 12 miles of developable waterfront, Project construction is underway now!

The revitalization of the over 1,000-acre Gateway Park is another exciting component of the Trinity River Vision. This initiative will breathe new life into the area by planting over 80,000 native trees, adding new community-requested recreational ammenities, 15 miles of new hike and bike trails, a major ecosystem restoration and will provide the necessary flood storage to ensure the safety of persons in the greater Fort Worth area. These improvements are expected to spur economic development around the park. The project meets the needs of the community by connecting the neighborhoods of east and southeast Fort Worth to the Trinity River. Thanks to TRWD and the City of Fort Worth, park renovations are happening now. When complete, Gateway Park will be larger than New York City s Central Park. Gateway Park East will feature a new scenic river overlook.

The Trinity Trails are more than 70 miles of continuous running, walking, biking and equestrian paths with 33 trailhead access points connecting 21 parks and 31 neighborhoods throughout all of Fort Worth. The Trinity River Vision Experience is a river corridor master plan designed to embrace this special opportunity to transform and strengthen the Trinity River into the backbone of Fort Worth s ever-evolving neighborhoods. The plan is being carried out thanks to a great partnership between The Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD), City of Fort Worth and Streams & Valleys, Inc. TRWD has built and maintains over 58 miles of trails in the comprehensive Trinity Trails system along the river. This system is connected to a strong on-street trail and park network provided by the City of Fort Worth. The full Trinity Trail system provides over 70 miles of continuous trails and connects to 31 neighborhoods. In addition, Streams & Valleys, Inc. acts as a non-profit steward collaborating with TRWD and the city to inspire, advocate for and seek grants and match funding for projects that enhance the river and trails. Outdoor activity in and along the river continues to grow.

Panther Island Pavilion, Texas only waterfront stage, is a picturesque outdoor event venue on the Trinity River with the downtown Fort Worth skyline as its beautiful backdrop. Located on the banks of the Trinity River, Panther Island Pavilion is a hub for water activity. It is home to Backwoods Paddlesports at Panther Island Rentals which rents kayaks, canoes and stand up paddleboards during the spring, summer and fall. It also hosts a variety of concerts, festivals, runs and more throughout the year. TRVA manages this venue to attract businesses and entertainment to the district.
