The PG Department of English (Estd. 2008): The department is headed by Dr Geralyn Pinto and equipped with well-qualified and dynamic teaching staff. The Department offers a contemporarily relevant syllabus and provides its students with a well-rounded, exciting and fulfilling academic experience. The Department is very pleased to say that well-nigh all its students have successfully earned their M.A. Degree in English and are gainfully employed. About the Seminar: The seminar focuses not only on the centrality of contemporary critical theories to a study of literature and language, but also aims to uncover what theories and critical tools might be available to us, in the future, to enable us to make sense of an increasingly divided world, fragmented identities, conflicting ideologies and confused loyalties, a fragile ecosystem and possible nuclear flashpoints. We hope, during the course of the seminar, to explore existing and generate new links between literature and historical, cultural, political, social, and psychological forces; to focus on what brings and holds us together rather than on what drives us apart; to outline initiatives that can be taken to safeguard the vulnerable Earth; to sensitize ourselves to the rights and needs of sexual minorities, and celebrate fluidity and diversity
