HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice-President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai

MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR GENERAL At ACTVET we have a firm belief that TVET systems need to keep abreast of the scientific and technological revolutions, new industries and market shifts. Our goal is not only to be responsive to the ever evolving economic environment, but to be capable of anticipating the future by preparing our students and today s workforce for future jobs as well. Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi Director General TVET Innovation Week - our annual event - is therefore one of our strides in this direction. This unique national platform brings together experts, industry leaders, government officials, policy-makers, researchers, students and educators to exchange ideas and expertise on a range of critically important themes in the various fields that make up TVET in the 21st Century. The comprehensive event, which is being implemented for the 3rd consecutive year, is closely aligned with the national agenda where investing in developing a diversified and sustainable economy is a key pillar. Numerous activities and events will stretch throughout all TVET institutes across the seven Emirates and will consist of innovative and interactive events including forums, workshops, exhibitions and exploration activities focusing on this year s theme which is TVET: leading the Way to a Sustainable Post-Oil Economy. To continue to be a model in sustaining economic prosperity necessitates that we turn ideas into actions now. This requires inter-sectoral, multi- level approaches, and therefore I call upon the participation of all the stakeholders to join this important event.

WHAT IS TVET INNOVATION WEEK? TVET Innovation Week is a national platform for experts, industry, government leaders, policy-makers, researchers, students and educators to exchange ideas and expertise on a range of critically important themes in the various fields that make up Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in the 21st Century.
