Foreword Man can have nothing, but what he strives for; (The fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: Then he will be rewarded with a complete reward. [Surah 53:39-41] Assalaamu Alaikum/ Peace be with you GCSE examinations can be a stressful time for pupils and parents/carers and it is important that all those involved are as well informed as possible. The school will make every effort to ensure that pupils receive the best possible preparation for their examinations, that the administrative arrangements run smoothly, and that the examinations are conducted in a way that will cause as little stress as possible and help pupils to achieve their best. Mock exams are run to the same standards and rules in order that pupils are familiar with the process beforehand. The exams being undertaken this summer and in the summer of 2019 will matter for all pupils. They will determine whether pupils get to study the A Level or BTEC course of their choice; including university entrance and, ultimately, are able to follow the career path of their choice. To assist pupils in the exams, teachers will work very hard over the next few weeks to guide pupils through their revision and provide assessment feedback. This booklet is intended to inform pupils and parents/carers about what, how, when and how much to revise. Teachers will also provide pupils with revision resources (revision booklets, practice papers etc.). It also contains the formal notices that are required by regulation to be given to each candidate. We pray that the Almighty inspires our pupils to work hard and to make the necessary sacrifices over the coming weeks and months. Ameen. Wassalaam, Ikram Adam (Vice Principal) 5 P a g e
