Dr. Stark goes above and beyond in ensuring BMEs know as much as possible about biology given we only take 3 semesters. definitely did not learn everything that we went over in lectures. Dr. Stark provides the material in an easy to comprehend and interesting way. For me, the organization is unlike anything I have ever had before. It has been very difficult to adjust to this type of course design. I have had to go back and present the material to myself in a way that better allowed me to retain it; however, I have learned a lot. There are definitely better ways to teach this course. "This Human Physiology course is a good requirement for BME students." 1 - strongly agree 12 60% 2 4 20% 3 4 20% I think it is important for BME students to understand not only the parts of the body, but how they work together, since most of the things they design must take this into account as a major component of the design. It allows us to further our knowledge in biology past what was given in introductory biology. Human Physiology is a great course for BMEs and should be required. I also feel that this course should be stretched out over two semesters. I feel like we cover material and move on. We cover so much material that it is impossible to get a firm grasp on everything. There are no subheadings or anything. Once again, the outlines online are so unorganized. I really enjoyed his tangents into the ethics of several of the subjects he discussed. I believe the course has fulfilled numbers 1, 2, and 4. Are there any topics you think should be reduced or eliminated? Everything was satisfactory. No. none. There were a lot of hormones that I do not think we need to know as BME students No. None While interesting, the extent to which hormones were covered was a little much for BMEs. I feel like we are more interested in tissues, senses, etc--subjects more applicable to BME. Nothing. It was all good. no Every topic learned was relevant to the knowledge needed to succeed.
