20 responses Summary See complete responses "The course fulfilled these objectives." 1 - strongly agree 11 55% 2 8 40% 3 1 5% We went into a lot of detail about the various systems, much more so than I had ever gone into in any class before this. Dr. Stark goes above and beyond in ensuring BMEs know as much as possible about biology given we only take 3 semesters. I learned a lot in this course. 1 - strongly agree 12 60% 2 6 30% 3 2 10% There was so much information that it is hard to remember all of it, so I did learn some things, but I Page 1 of 7

definitely did not learn everything that we went over in lectures. Dr. Stark provides the material in an easy to comprehend and interesting way. For me, the organization is unlike anything I have ever had before. It has been very difficult to adjust to this type of course design. I have had to go back and present the material to myself in a way that better allowed me to retain it; however, I have learned a lot. There are definitely better ways to teach this course. The intro bio courses use p... "This Human Physiology course is a good requirement for BME students." 1 - strongly agree 12 60% 2 4 20% 3 4 20% I think it is important for BME students to understand not only the parts of the body, but how they work together, since most of the things they design must take this into account as a major component of the design. It allows us to further our knowledge in biology past what was given in introductory biology. Human Physiology is a great course for BMEs and should be required. I also feel that this course should be stretched out over two semesters. I feel like we cover material and move on. We cover so much material that it is impossible to get a firm grasp on everything. With anywhere from 50... "The selection of topics for emphasis was reasonable." Page 2 of 7

"Having outlines on the web worked well for you." 1 - strongly agree 15 75% 2 4 20% 3 1 5% Along the book, they were my major study source. me. The outlines were extremely helpful for Sometimes material is given in one lecture but the fundamentals and definitions of what some of the acronyms are, are not given until a later lecture. There are no subheadings or anything. Once again, the outlines online are so unorganized. I tried to access this site, but was unable to view SLU's 5 dimensions, so I cannot answer this question. n/a Scholarship and knowledge relate to the course I thought Dr. Stark did an excellent job at bringing aspects of SLU's mission into the class. I really enjoyed his tangents into the ethics of several of the subjects he discussed. I believe the course has fulfilled numbers 1, 2, and 4. I believe the 5 dimensions Are there any topics you would like to be added to the syllabus in future years? Everything was satisfactory. I don't think so. I feel like all the topics covered in class were relevant to BME and an addition of a topic might take away from the depth of the topics covered in class. none. Nope I would like to go more in depth into the brain and maybe touch on memory because I feel like that is a very interesting subject that could prove to be very useful down the road. there. Are there any topics you think should be reduced or eliminated? Everything was satisfactory. No. none. There were a lot of hormones that I do not think we need to know as BME students No. None While interesting, the extent to which hormones were covered was a little much for BMEs. I feel like we are more interested in tissues, senses, etc--subjects more applicable to BME. Nothing. It was all good. no Every topic learned was relevant to the knowledge needed to succeed. Hormones were extremely detailed and difficult to handle with the other material. No Number of daily responses Page 7 of 7
