Look at the transformation which has gone on around us since the laws of gravitation, electricity, magnetism, and the expansive power of heat have become known to us. It has altered our whole state of existence one might say, the whole face of the globe. Following the success of the Great Exhibition, Prince Albert championed the development of a scientific and educational hub in the South Kensington area, of which Imperial is now part. The Queen s Tower, shown here, is one of the oldest structures on the College s South Kensington Campus, and is a symbol of Imperial s long and enduring heritage, which owes much to the extraordinary legacy of Prince Albert.
