SF Police Credit Union 2018 SF Police Credit Union is offering students a chance to receive a one-time $1,000 scholarship award to be given out to four students who show academic excellence. Applications will be accepted from October 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017. Candidate Requirements To qualify for consideration, candidates must meet the following requirements: Minimum of a 3.0 cumulative G.P.A. Must be an SFPCU member that has been with SFPCU for at least six months prior to the time of application. Must be accepted to or already attending a full-time undergraduate program of study at a college or university. (If application for admission has been filed, but is pending when this scholarship application is submitted, scholarship will be awarded contingent upon acceptance to a full-time undergraduate program of study at a college or university. The Board of Directors, SFPCU employees, Volunteer Committee members [and their families], and previous winners are not eligible to apply. Application Requirements If a candidate chooses to submit the application by mail, it must be in a single envelope, postmarked no later than December 31, 2017. The application must include or meet the following requirements: One or two recommendations (maximum one page each) from a teacher, coach or supervisor Copy of transcript Proof of acceptance or enrollment (Scholarship award is contingent upon proof of acceptance, if acceptance hasn t been granted at time of application) No staples or double-sided printing Please submit completed applications to: SF Police Credit Union C/O Marketing - Scholarship Awards PO Box 22219 San Francisco, CA 94122 Page 2 of 8
Evaluation Criteria Judging will be based on academic achievement (G.P.A., awards, etc.), community involvement (volunteer work), extra-curricular activities (sports, student government, student clubs, etc.), work experience, a personal recommendation and an essay question. 25% Academic Achievement 25% Community Involvement 25% Work Experience/Extra-curricular Activities 25% Essay/Personal Recommendation SFPCU s evaluation of the candidate regarding each of these criteria shall be made in SFPCU s sole and absolute discretion. Award Recipient Selection Applicants will not be judged based on race, national origin, religious beliefs, gender, income, marital status, age or disability. All completed applications must be received with a postmark no later than December 31, 2017. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Winners will be selected by the Executive Staff at SFPCU and approved by the Board of Directors. Winners will be notified by mail or by phone no later than February 1, 2018, and will be asked to submit a photo of themselves to appear in the APB Newsletter.
