Walt Disney World One Day This very magical tourism operation attracts millions of visitors every year and students will learn about the four theme parks, two water parks and 24 themed resort hotels. Students will learn about the amazing internship opportunities available to them in many areas from Disney characters, to theme park greeters and ride operators. A lot of fun and learning, ensuring the students will come away inspired about a career in the travel and tourism industry. This taster includes: - Pathways to travel and tourism - Half day exploring local operators and attractions $60-$100 pp plus GST (depending on included attractions) 21 July 2017

Run in conjunction with the Novotel Auckland and TIA Tourism Industry Aotearoa What is it really like working in a hotel? What different roles are available in the industry? How can I get my first job in a hotel? This brand new exciting one day taster has been developed in conjunction with the Tourism Industry Aotearoa and will take students on a journey to discover all the exciting career opportunities in the accommodation sector. Based at the Novotel Auckland Airport Hotel, students will get a first-hand, behind the scenes look at the hotel industry. Staff members from the hotel will be guest speakers, giving students an insight into the real day to day experience of working in a hotel. The staff will also discuss the different entry level opportunities available and the future career opportunities within the industry. Students will come away excited about the industry, having an understanding of the career possibilities and different terminology used within the industry. The day includes an exciting behind the scenes look at the hotel, demonstrations from different hotel departments and interesting talks from hotel employees who have made a career in the hotel industry. Travel & Tourism Programme - 5 days This programme is designed for any student who wants to gain a valuable insight into the travel and tourism industry and discover the many exciting opportunities that are available. Students will also experience industry speakers with visits to a hotel, travel agent, I SITE and a local attraction. It includes the following unit standards - 2989v5 Level 2 Credit 3 Select read & assess texts to gain knowledge - 23761 Level 2 Credit 3 Read and comprehend work-related documents in a tourism workplace - 23767 Level 2 Credit 2 Demonstrate knowledge of and use internet in a tourism workplace $250 pp + GST per day (or use a class rate of $600 per class per day with max of 20 students) 20-21 April 2017 Flight Attending Programme 5 days This exciting 5 day programme is suited to students who are keen to pursue a career in flight attending. Learn what makes this career so unique and discover how no two days are ever the same. Included is an overview of what it takes to become a flight attendant, as well as on board safety, handling emergencies, grooming and customer service. It includes the following unit standards: - 21842 Level 3 Credit 4 Food hygiene requirements on board an aircraft - 21834 Level 3 Credit 4 Identify and self-evaluate the demands of a specific role in tourism 8 credits total (4 credits contribute to Vocational Pathway: Service Industries) $250 pp plus GST (or use a class rate of $600 per class per day with max of 20 students) 17-21 st July & 02-06 th October 2017 Flight Attending Programme 10 days This exciting 10 day option is split over two school holidays and takes the above programme to a new level. It is suited to students who are passionate about tourism and see flight attending as an exciting opportunity not to be missed. This is the most comprehensive holiday programme we offer.
