ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib was set up to th commemorate the historic event of the 400 anniversary of the compilation and first installation of holy Sri Guru Granth Granth Sahib. Located at Fatehgarh Sahib, a place sanctified by the unique martyrdom of the younger sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh Sahib, the University is fast evolving as a seat of higher learning in the spheres of Religious Studies, Commerce, Management, Economics, Social Sciences, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, Punjabi, Zoology, Physiotherapy, Music, etc. In order to prepare the young men and women to be Global Professionals, the university is simultaneously focusing on 'Emerging Technologies' including Biotechnology, Nano- technology, Information technology as well as emerging disciplines like Environment, Human Rights and Empowerment of the Women and the downtrodden. Core areas of studies, research and teaching include comprehensive studies on Sri Guru Granth Sahib; Sikh theology, Philosophy, History and development of Punjabi language and literature. These Schools are imparting education at the under graduate, post graduate and the doctoral level. In addition to the teaching departments, the university has established three research centers i.e. Guru Arjun Dev Centre for Sri Guru Granth Sahib Studies, Bhai Gurdas Centre for Sikh Studies and Guru Nanak Dev Centre for Gurmat Sangeet. SCHOOL OF COMMERCE & MANAGEMENT The School of Commerce & Management was established with the aim and objective of fostering value based business education and research in order to meet the growing needs of qualified and efficient managers and academicians in the country and across the globe. The School is imparting education at the under graduate, post graduate and doctorate level in the fields of commerce and management (B.Com, B.Com Professional, BBA, MBA, M.Com, Ph.D). The School has made its presence felt distinctively in the world of academics and management professionals within a short span of time. It organizes various events like Mock Interviews, Guest Lectures, Industrial Visits, International & National Conferences, Workshops etc. The School has formed a management club to inculcate the habit of organizing and managing various events. ABOUT THE CONFERENCE The School of Commerce and Management is organizing nd 2 International Business Conference on 17-18 March, 2015 on Value Creation for Sustainable Development. The sub-themes will be in the fields of Human Resource Management, Marketing, Finance, Economics,Strategic Management & Information Technology which aim at offering practical solutions to address the complex challenges of value creation to promote development at local, regional, and global levels. In the liberalized economic environment, business is facing manifold challenges relating to not only from international forces but also from internal competitive market. A business has to develop policies for making it sustainable in the long run. To ensure sustainability, business organisations have to develop appropriate strategies. At the same time, government has to plan policies, which will promote sustainability in economic and social development. This requires bridging the gap between what is being done by various institutions and what needs to be done. The aim of the conference is to share and identify strategic issues at the micro & macro levels and policy initiatives at the Government level to support sustainable development to gain the competitive edge, increase the market share, and to boost stakeholders value. The above issues are indicative in nature. Papers on other contemporary issues would also be accepted. The contributor is requested to submit double spaced hard copy of the full paper & an abstract (not exceeding 300 words) in MS Word format in English in Times New Roman with 12 type font in A4 size with 1 inch margin all around. The complete research paper should not exceed 3000 words. Final paper submission must accompany a Certificate by the author(s) that the paper is an original piece of work and has neither been published nor submitted for publication elsewhere. The cover page of the paper should contain: i. Title of the paper( in bold) ii. Name of the author(s) iii. Professional affiliation of the author(s) iv. Complete postal address with email id and telephone numbers. Paper presentation will take place in concurrent sessions. CONFERENCE PUBLICATION Selected papers will be published in an edited volume after the conference in a Book/Journal bearing ISBN/ISSN on the basis of a double blind review process. No TA/DA will be paid to any delegate who presents the paper in the conference.
