Youth Co-Occurring Disorders: Behavioral Health Provider Training Series Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Behavioral Health Administration and University of Maryland School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry This guide will help walk you through specific features of the training series as well as troubleshooting any issues you may come across. Getting Started Logging In Open browser and type https://mdbehavioralhealth.com into the address bar. Under Register, type your first and last name, e-mail, create a password for your new account, and click Register. You will be prompted to complete a short registration form before beginning any training course. Your Account Information regarding your account will be displayed in the top right hand corner under your username. By clicking on My Account, you will see a menu under the heading Actions and have the ability to choose: My Profile: allows you to update your account settings and represents a personal home page on the University of Maryland Behavioral Health site. Other site members can visit your Profile Page to learn about you and your interests. You have the option to click on a link viewing your profile as other would see it embedded on the page: View profile as others would see it. Change Password: change your password. My Surveys: view surveys you have completed. Logout: option to logout of the training platform. Information regarding the modules you have completed will also be displayed under the heading Courses. 1

Homepage A red tool bar across the top of the page contains the following options: Home: clicking on this takes you back to the home page. About Us: provides background information about the creators of the site and of the training curricula. Online Training: offers access to a variety of online training modules. Contact Us: links you to a portal to express questions, concerns and experiences regarding the training platform. Accessing the Youth Co-Occurring Disorders: Behavioral Health Provider Training Series Click on the Online Training tab in the toolbar at the top of the page. A menu of training programs will be displayed, including the Youth Co-occurring Disorders Training. Click Continue to be taken to an overview of the training website. On the left hand side of the page you will see a gray menu that links to: Overview: welcome page which outlines features of the COD training site. Training: video presentations with experts in the field of youth with co-occurring disorders. Implementation Resources: downloadable manuals, worksheets, expert advice and provider tips from clinicians and researchers. Ask An Expert: ask questions of content experts. Discussion Board: share tips/experiences and discuss areas of interest with other providers. Collaborative Workspace: a portal to uploading documents with other site members. Choosing a Module After clicking on the Training tab on the gray menu, a listing of modules will be displayed. Click Enter Module to open the module page which provides a description, learning objectives, CEU information and Final Test instructions. To begin the module, select Enter Module at the top or bottom of the page. Under the title of the module, click on the Play button. The screen will show presentation slides, a video of the presenter speaking, transcripts of the presentation, and a scrollable menu of the current slide title and number. 2

You have the option to view the module via video or slides only by clicking Settings in the upper right hand corner and selecting your preferred viewing format. Once you have completed the module, you will be given the option to Continue on to the Final Test, Replay the module again or Close the Module to be taken back to the current module s overview page. For some modules, you will also be prompted to view a role play prior to completing the Final Test and receiving CEUs. Note: You can take the Final Test two times before your module progress will be reset and you will need to revisit each of the sections of the module again. After completing the Final Test, you can take the survey by clicking Take Survey. Note: You will earn the course certificate and CEUs after completing the survey. To view another module, click on Training, located in the gray menu on the left side of the page and follow the steps above. Implementation Resources You can access free downloadable materials, which can be selected by topic, and tips from trainers. Click on Implementation Resources located on the gray menu on the left side of the page. At first glance, the page will automatically show all Materials, Provider Tips, Expert Advice, Q&A and Links. In order to view specific resources, check the boxes located on the right side of the page under the MODULES and TYPE menus. You may choose multiple modules or resource types in order to populate information that may be of interest to you: Materials: include handouts, screening/assessment tools, articles, etc. and will be in PDF format. Provider Tips: are short messages given by clinicians and researchers in the field. Expert Advice: are short interview and/or role play demonstration clips with presenters, clinicians, researchers, and consumers in the field providing advice regarding screening, assessment, prevention, intervention and engagement strategies on treating youth with COD. 3

Ask an Expert Personal accounts from youth and caregivers who have experience with COD are included here as well. When viewing an interview clip, you will have the option to download it as well as view it in audio only or transcript only mode. Links: will allow you to access outside organization s websites and helpful resources and handouts for clinicians, researchers, clients and families. If you have questions about the training or want more information about one of the modules, the Ask an Expert function allows you to contact presenters, clinicians and researchers featured in the Youth Co- Occurring Disorders: Behavioral Health Provider Training Series. After clicking Ask an Expert, a webpage will open outlining each expert and their areas of interest. You have the option to view each expert s bio and can ask a question of an expert according to their field of expertise. If you choose to ask a question, click on a topic area, enter your question and click Submit: Discussion Board All questions and answers may be edited and visible to other users. You may browse previously asked questions and answers by category. Use this area to exchange documents with other site members. You can download any of the files or upload your own documents to share. To Upload: Click Choose Files, find and select the file(s) you want, and click Upload. You can move uploaded files into an existing folder or create a new one. To Download: Click on a file name and follow the download instructions. You can also add content descriptions; rename, move, or delete files or folders; and post comments about specific files. By sharing a document, you are permitting others to use and edit your document as they wish. Prior versions of files are accessible by clicking on the number in the Version column. 4
