The Annual Fund raised a record $4.6 million in FY 07 from 33,041 donors. This amount represents a 17 percent increase over FY 06. Alumni contributed $17.3 million last year. Additional commitments included $12.3 million from parents and other individuals, $15.5 million from corporations and $14.4 million from private foundations. At the close of FY 07, the University s endowment, which stood at $42 million at the start of 1995, was valued at approximately $336 million; over the past 5 years, the endowment has grown $139 million, or nearly 71 percent. The UConn Foundation established 55 new endowment funds in the past year for students, faculty and program support; the total number of endowments now stands at 1,137. The University received $33.3 million in disbursements from the UConn Foundation in FY 07: $11 million for scholarships, $9.1 million for faculty support and $7.5 million for programs and facilities. Currently, there are 77 faculty chairs and professorships at the University funded through private endowments.
