UXO Program Introduction UXO Global s Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Technician 1 program offers a comprehensive, hands-on training, with graduation as a certified UXO. Our UXO Tech I course meets and exceeds all requirements stated by the Department of Defense Explosive Safety Board (DDESB) Technical Paper (TP-18) and fully prepares students for an exciting career in the UXO field. Candidates will experience a challenging four week course studying subjects such as safety, explosives, ordnance identification of both domestic and foreign ordnance from around, range clearance operations, and more. Students will get the opportunity to work with a variety of ordnance, various geo-physical detectors, electric and non-electric firing systems, GPS devices, and several different types of high and low explosives. UXO Global (a division of Front Range Training & Consulting, LLC) UXO Global is a division of Front Range Training and Consulting, LLC, (FRTC). FRTC is a veteran owned Colorado-based company that has been in business since October 2003. Since its first course was conducted in 2004, FRTC has shown tremendous growth, which is a direct result of FRTC s view that training must be built on three basic concepts: it must be meaningful, it must be effective, and it must be sustainable. FRTC has quickly and effectively demonstrated that we are a leader in the training industry. We have trained thousands of professionals across the country and have been continuous providers of training to the Department of Defense with our tactical training arm. Facilities The school is located at 5609 Goldco Dr. Loveland, CO, 80538 on the 2 nd Floor. Our classroom is furnished with modern audio visual equipment to enhance classroom activities as well as a wide array of inert ordnance to assist with ordnance. All field practical exercises are conducted at the Pawnee Sportsman Center located at 40914 Weld County Road 71, Briggsdale, CO, UXO Global Course Catalog Page 2 of 11

UXO Program approximately 40 miles from our main classroom. This facility is designed to accommodate live explosive work and simulate UXO grid work. Courses Offered UXO 200+ hours Didactic instruction, UXO Certification and 20 Continuing Education Units (CEU) from Colorado State University, Continuing Education Department 40 hours didactic instruction, Certification required to work on all DoD and US Army Corps of Engineers ranges. UXO Program New Year s Eve New Year s Day Memorial Day Independence Day Labor Day Thanksgiving Day + the Friday following Christmas Eve Christmas Day Entrance Requirements The school does not discriminate based race, sex, religion, ethnic origin, or disability. Prospective students must have a high school diploma or equivalency diploma to be accepted for enrollment. All students must be over the age of 18 to be accepted. Enrollment Prospective students may enroll at any time. Transfer and Cancellation Policy If you cannot attend a class, you must contact UXO Global in advance to either transfer or cancel your registration. Please refer to the Transfer and Cancellation/Refund. Transfers Transfers to another scheduled class (or from one student to another) are accepted at any time before 30 days before the commencement of the start of the class at no charge. If the student cannot attend any scheduled class, then the Cancellation/Refund Policy is in effect. Postponement of Course Start Date by UXO Global If UXO Global needs to postpone the start date of the class, for any reason, the following will take place: 1. UXO Global will send written notice of postponement, via email, no less than two weeks prior to the start of class. 2. UXO Global will make every effort to contact individual students by phone to insure said notification has been received. 3. UXO Global will move all students registered in the postponed class, to the next or new class. If the course is not commenced, or the student is unable to attend by the new start date set forth in the notification, the student will be entitled to an appropriate refund of prepaid tuition and fees within 30 days of the of the new start date set forth in the notification, in accordance UXO Global Course Catalog Page 4 of 11

UXO Program with the school s refund policy and all applicable laws and rules concerning the Private Occupational Education Act of 1981. Postponement of Course Start Date by a Student If a Student needs to postpone for the current enrolled class, to one at a later date, they must: Submit the Postponement From to the Admissions Office no less than two weeks prior to the start of class. If the student postpones their start date within two weeks of the start of the course they will be charged a one-time fee of $100. Placement Assistance UXO Global offers employment assistance to graduates, consisting of job lead referrals and job skills development. While assisting in your job search, we make no guarantee, expressed or implied, of future employment. Current law prohibits any school from guaranteeing job placement as an inducement to enroll students. Attendance Requirements Students are expected to arrive on time for class with proper materials. An overall attendance rate of at least 90% is required. Given the condensed nature of the UXO course of instruction, Instructors may request withdrawal from the course if absences or tardiness exceed 2 days. Students who are unable to continue classes for medical reasons or severe personal problems will be required to take a leave of absence until they are able to return to class. Proper documentation will be required to substantiate a student s withdrawal. Progress Policy Students must maintain an 85% grade point average. Those who do not will be placed on probation. During the probation period, students must raise their grade average to passing or higher. The student may be terminated if grades are not satisfactory. Termination shall be at the school Director s discretion. The Director has final authority and shall notify the student of the final decision. UXO Program Students will be given progress reports with grades periodically throughout the program. Previous Credits Credits from another institution will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. UXO Global does not guarantee transferability of our credits to another institution unless there is a written agreement with the specific institution in question. Conduct Policy All students are expected to act maturely and required to respect other students and faculty members. All students will be required to sign a Conduct Policy agreement on the first day of class. Possession of weapons, illegal drugs, and alcohol of any kind are not allowed at any time on school property. Any violation of school policies may result in permanent dismissal from the school. Dismissal Any student may be dismissed for violations of rules and regulations of the school. A student also may be withdrawn from classes if he/she does not prepare sufficiently, neglects assignments, or makes unsatisfactory progress. The Director, after consultation with all parties involved, makes the final decision. The Director may counsel or temporarily suspend students whose conduct is disruptive or unacceptable to the academic setting. After appropriate counseling, students who demonstrate a genuine desire to learn and conform to school standards of conduct, may be allowed to resume attendance. The Director will review each case and decide upon readmittance. Cancellations/Refunds All cancellations must be submitted in writing (via letter or email). Students not accepted to the school are entitled to all tuition paid (not including any non-refundable fees). Reasons to not be accepted include not passing the background check or credit check criteria. Not passing the OSHA physical or drug tests do not qualify as students not being accepted in to the school. * Please note: Students using their GI/ Veterans benefits, please see Addendum 1 on page 11 for details on the VA Refund Policy, which supersedes the school s normal refund policy. Students who cancel this contract by notifying the school in writing within three (3) business days of sending in their deposit are entitled to a full refund of all tuition paid. Students, who withdraw after three (3) business days of sending in their deposit, but outside of 30 days before the commencement of classes, are entitled to a full refund of all tuition paid except the UXO Global Course Catalog Page 6 of 11

UXO Program maximum cancellation charge of $150.00 or 25% of the contract price, whichever is less. Students who withdraw within 30 days before the commencement of the class are entitled to a full refund of all tuition paid except the maximum cancellation charge of $300 or 30% of the contract price, whichever is less. In the case of students withdrawing after commencement of classes, the school will retain a cancellation charge plus a percentage of tuition owed, which is based on the percentage of contact hours attended as described in the table below. The refund is based on the last date of recorded attendance. The student may cancel this contract at any time prior to midnight of the third business day after signing this contract. 2. All refunds will be made within 30 days from the date of termination. The official date of termination or withdrawal of a student shall be determined in the following manner: a. The date on which the school receives written notice of the student s intention to discontinue the training program; or b. The date on which the student violates published school policy, which provides for termination. c. If a student is on an extended leave then the school must use the termination date of the expected return date if the student does not return OR if the school is made aware prior to that date that the UXO Global Course Catalog Page 7 of 11

UXO Program student will not return, that earlier date must be used to benefit the student. 3. The student will receive a full refund of tuition paid if the school discontinues a program/stand Alone course within a period of time a student could have reasonably completed it, except that this provision shall not apply in the event the school ceases operation. 4. The policy for granting credit for previous training shall not impact the refund policy. Complaints Complaints may be brought to the attention of the faculty at any time. The student is encouraged to address issues and complaints to the Lead Instructor but may contact any of the faculty members with complaints. Although verbal complaints are accepted written complaints are preferred and may be required based on circumstances.
