NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC We wish to welcome you to the Sheffield-Sheffield Lake Board of Education Meeting. Please be advised that tonight s meeting may be videotaped for presentation on cable. This agenda copy is provided for your convenience. Each Board member receives his agenda and an abundance of informational material well in advance of each meeting. He, individually, has had the opportunity to study each item and to ask questions of school personnel. The Board meeting is for the purpose of conducting public business and is not designed to be a public forum. Your questions and suggestions, however, are most welcome. In general, all comments and questions should be brought to the attention of the school's administration. In most instances problems can be settled in this manner. Please fill out the forms available should you wish to address a comment to the Board of Education. A place on the agenda has been provided for this purpose. In addressing the Board, state your name and address. Please keep your comments short and to the point. The Board will gladly accept your suggestions and requests and will try to answer your questions when possible. Most often, however, action will be deferred to a subsequent meeting in order to allow time to thoroughly study your input. Board of Education Goals for 2009-10 1. C. 2010-2011 MULTI-AGREEMENT CONTRACT attached contract covering services provided by the Educational Service Center of Lorain County for the 2010-2011 school year. D. LAKE ERIE REGIONAL COUNCIL attached agreement regarding the insurance program of the Lake Erie Regional Council to become effective July 1, 2010. IX. SUPERINTENDENT S BUSINESS A. REPORTS B. PERSONNEL 1. It is recommended that the Sheffield- Sheffield Lake Board of Education honor the following employee requests: a. Accept the resignation Bonnie L. Jones, Knollwood Elementary, for the purpose of retirement, effective July 1, 2010. 2. It is recommended that the Board of Education grant a Two Year Limited Teaching Contract to the following certified personnel, effective, 08/24/10 for the 2010-2011 and the 2011-2012 school years; a. Christopher Glynn B Step 5 $39,029.00 b. Kathryn Golden B Step 3 $36,157.00 Sheffield Means Success Page 4 of 7

3. It is recommended that the Sheffield-Sheffield Lake Board of Education grant a Continuing Contract to the following certified personnel, effective 08/24/10; a. Eric Ruble M Step 8 $49,091.00 4. It is recommended that the Sheffield-Sheffield Lake Board of Education approve the following classified personnel as per the Master Agreement; a. Denise Zan, Forestlawn Elementary, Crossing Guard, Step 4, $11.44/hr, 1.75 hrs/day, 179 + 8 holidays, effective April 27, 2010, prorated for the remainder of the 2009-10 school year. 5. It is recommended that the Sheffield-Sheffield Lake Board of Education award a Supplemental Contract to the following personnel effective for the 2009-10 school year/season as per the Master Agreement and contingent upon successful completion of all payroll requirements; a. Scott Thompson, Brookside, Assistant Var. Track, Class III, Step 4, $3,756.00. 6. It is recommended that the Sheffield-Sheffield Lake Board of Education employ the following classified substitute upon successful completion of all payroll requirements; a. C. BOARD POLICY MANUAL APPROVAL (THIRD READING) revised Sheffield-Sheffield Lake School Board Policy Manual. D. LORAIN COUNTY COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCY - HEAD START AGREEMENT It is recommended that the Board of Education enter into the enclosed agreement with Lorain County Community Action Agency Head Start Program effective for the 2010-2011 school year. E. BROOKSIDE BUS GARAGE BID APPROVAL It is recommended that the Sheffield-Sheffield Lake Board of Education authorize the award of the bid for the Brookside Bus Garage Improvements to M.J. Griffith, Inc. in the amount of the base bid of $39,010.92 for the installation of concrete and base within the existing bus garage, and in the amount of $363,653.56 for the storm sewer improvements along with concrete pavement in the parking lot with cement stabilization and base. F. JOB DESCRIPTION SHEFFIELD-SHEFFIELD LAKE SPECIAL OLYMPICS COORDINATOR enclosed job description for the Sheffield-Sheffield Lake Special Olympics Coordinator. Sheffield Means Success Page 6 of 7

G. RESOLUTION RACE TO THE TOP It is recommended that the Sheffield-Sheffield Lake Board of Education support the attached resolution in support of the Race to the Top grant project. X.
