MELLON MAYS / BOUCHET GRE PREPARATION COURSE PRELIMINARY SCHEDULE ~ OFFICE USE FALL 2012 Instructor: J. Cecilia Cárdenas-Navia Tel: 240.462.9994 Email: cecilia.cardenasnavia@gmail.com Class Location: BASS Library ~ L73 Day / Time: Monday 6.00 9.00 pm Tutoring Location: TBD Day / Time: Wednesday & Thursday TBD Practice Test Location: BASS Library ~ L73 Day / Time: Saturday or Sunday TBD OPTIONS FOR MEETING TIMES Weekly Class: ~ Class is required for all students and will roughly be broken into two time blocks: one half for Math; one half for Verbal and/or Writing, with a 10-15 minute break in between. ~ The format for the class will include a guided lecture, interactive exercises, group and individual work, quizzes, and vocabulary building. Lessons and worksheets will be provided. Monday 6.00 9.00 pm Individualized Tutoring Sessions ~ Students will sign up for a set 30 minute session that they will be required to attend on a weekly basis. ~ Barring unforeseen scheduling conflicts (i.e. illness, family obligations), the student will commit to a time block that he/she will maintain for the entirety of the course. This helps to ensure accountability and a regular rhythm to help students maintain the study regimen. ~ This time will be utilized for: homework review, homework completion, diagnostic and practice test results and analysis, and other relevant questions and concerns about the GRE and the graduate school application process.
