INTRODUCTION The Office of Career Planning & Employer Services at Pennsylvania Highlands Community College surveyed the previous year s graduates to track and document first destination outcomes of graduates from the class of 2014. The information regarding the current status of the class of 2014 was obtained by emailing a link to the survey to all graduates in May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December of 2014 and January, February and March of 2015. In March 2015 follow up phone calls were made to non-responding graduates. In addition a college transfer information report was pulled from the National Student Clearinghouse, obtaining up-to-date information on the number of Penn Highlands students who enrolled in another college/ university to continue their education. These contacts yielded a 72 % response rate. Fifty three (53%) percent of the responding 214 graduates indicated they have enrolled in a college or university. Thirty nine (39%) percent of the indicated they are employed. Seven (7 %) percent of the unemployed responding graduates indicate they are actively seeking employment. In summary, based upon the data from responding 2014 graduates ninety three (93 %) percent of respondents are employed or pursuing additional education. Out of the thirty five (35%) percent of respondents who indicated they had utilized the services provide by the Career Planning & Employer Services office, ninety seven (97%) percent rated the services they received to be satisfactory to excellent. The top services use by graduates included: resume and cover letter writing, career exploration/ self-assessment, and interview skills. The following text provides two different types of information about our 2014 responding graduates. The first section contains a breakdown by division and department of the current status of the respective graduates. The second section lists the employers of those working in their fields and the name of the institutions the graduates indicate they plan to transfer to continue their education. Page 2
