HIGH SCHOOL STUDY ABROAD 2016 2017 PRICING GUIDE Exact departure dates may be set at the time of placement, but in semester and year programs these may be set a few months after the student s arrival in the host country. Students may leave earlier than their planned stay, with advance notice and a signed program release. Students may extend their departures in some cases. Contact ICES to ask about this. When dates on the guide are marked as various : students should notify ICES of their preferred arrival and departure dates, and ICES will accommodate these as closely as possible depending on availability. deadlines for these programs will be 4 months prior to the desired start date of the program. For information on school vacations and holidays, refer to the page of the country you are interested in. KEY INFORMATION LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS You don t have to already speak another language to study abroad! If you d like to study in a non-english speaking country and haven t studied the language in school, you will be expected to enroll in a course or study on your own prior to your departure. You should have a basic working level of the language. If a student s language level is too low, s/he may be required to follow language instruction outside of their host school at an additional cost. There are fixed language requirements for the following programs: France (2 s), Switzerland (2 s German) Students in these countries must have a basic level.
