ALAMEDA KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS COUNCIL# 9928 At Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Not the biggest but one of the best It is not by our words, but by our deeds that we are known through service to the church, supporting the needy poor, protecting the unborn, and love of country. COMMENTS BY THE GRAND KNIGHT Brother Knights, Our council has had another wonderful year supporting our parish and community. I am particularly pleased with our support throughout the year for our Catholic youth. We will be conducting our 13 th Golf Tournament to support Catholic School Scholarships on August 12, 2017. Brother Frank Gonzales, our project leader, needs your help with signing up teams, collecting door prizes, and assistance with the conduct of the tournament. Please see page 2. Aug 1, 2017 Volume 3 Issue 2 Terry Davenport, Editor Please welcome our newest council member. Please refer to page five. I want to thank all the brother knights who have stepped up to serve our council as officers and/or program directors. Each year, our councils undertake many thousands of locally inspired programs at the parish level, making life better for millions of people." GOLF TOURNAMENT We are less than two weeks ago from our annual golf tournament. We still need players, teams, sponsors, gift cards/prizes and donations for the goodie bag. Please, if you know any golfers, see if they are willing to enter and play. If you know any businesses owners, see if they are willing to sponsor a hole or provide a prize/gift card. Lastly, please let me know if you can donate a gift card, nuts, water, granola bars, etc. for the goodie bags we are putting together. Thank you so much for your generosity and support. This event is held each year to honor the donors who make generous donations to the Annual Catholic Appeal. This year s event included the opportunity to meet and greet many of our seminarians who are the primary beneficiaries of the annual appeal.
