TRANSFER PATHWAYS TO WILLIAM & MARY (2017-2018) THOMAS NELSON COMMUNITY COLLEGE (TNCC) William & Mary (W&M) welcomes applications from (TNCC) students. W&M encourages students to participate in the Guaranteed Admission Agreement (GAA) that W&M has established with the Virginia Community College System (VCCS). TNCC students who complete a transferoriented Associates degree, with a minimum GPA of 3.6, with no grades below a C in all transferable courses, a B or better in courses that satisfy College Curriculum (COLL) Domain and Proficiency courses, and have earned a minimum of 45 credit hours of the total required for the transfer-oriented associate degree at a VCCS institution following graduation from high school, are guaranteed general admission to W&M. Admission into the Mason School of Business at W&M is NOT guaranteed by the GAA. More information about our transfer agreements, including the Guaranteed Admission Agreement, is located at: http://www.wm.edu/admission/undergraduateadmission/how-toapply/transfers/vccs_students/guaranteed_admission/vccsagreement/index.php Students interested in pursuing admission through the GAA must sign and submit a Letter of Intent to Transfer to W&M upon the completion of a minimum of 15 credit hours of post-high school coursework with minimum 3.4 GPA at a VCCS institution (not via transfer credit) and at least one year prior to their desired matriculation date at W&M. http://williamandmary.force.com/events/targetx_eventsb formpage?formid=217748 By carefully selecting an appropriate degree program at TNCC and completing certain required courses for that degree program, students can fulfill the introductory-level requirements of the first one or two years for most baccalaureate degree programs at W&M. The following pages provide specific course recommendations for students enrolled in those degree programs that correspond to the TNCC curricular requirements for those degrees. Students should always select courses after consulting with an advisor at TNCC. It is recommended for all transfer students to complete the requirements for W&M s foreign language proficiency. The foreign language proficiency may be met through four years of a language in high school, or completion of a college language course at the 202 level. 1. Associate of Science: Business Administration This pathway is appropriate for prospective W&M majors in Accounting, Business Analytics with Data Science, Finance, and Marketing. 2. Associate of Arts: Liberal Arts This pathway is appropriate for students who are undecided about their major and for prospective majors in American Studies, English Language & Literature, European Studies, History, International Relations, and Philosophy. 3.
