Career Technical Education (CTE) Outcomes Survey 2015 Columbia College In July 2015, 167 students who had earned a Columbia College vocational certificate or degree 1 (completers) were contacted individually. The purpose was to collect recent CTE completer s employment and outcome status, their satisfaction with the courses and training they received while at Columbia, and their earnings both before, and after completion of their program(s). The 2015 iteration marked the third annual Columbia College CTE Outcomes Survey but the first time the survey was managed entirely in-house through the Institutional Research Office for the College departing from contracting with an outside vendor to coordinate the surveying process. This may explain why the college received a higher response rate for the 2015 survey as compared to the previous two years. Of the 167 completers who were contacted by telephone or via email, 39.5% (66) completed the survey. This compares to a 31% response rate in 2013 and a lower 22% in 2014. During the month of July 2015, Student Ambassadors were hired and trained to make individual telephone calls to each of the students on a list of 2014-2015 CTE certificate or degree awardees. Once contacted and if the student was willing to take the survey over the telephone, the questions were read to them and their responses recorded in an online survey. If they preferred to complete the survey independently, or could not be contacted after three tries via telephone, an email was sent to them to the same online survey. Overall, students expressed a high degree of satisfaction with their education and training at Columbia College. 97% indicated Satisfied or Very Satisfied, 3% were Neither Satisfied or Dissatisfied, and 0% indicated Dissatisfied. This was a significant increase over the 89% and 45% satisfaction ratios from the previous two years. The data that follows summarizes the responses collected in July 2015.
