5. Human Resources in Health Sector Human Resource indicators provide an overview of availability of trained and specialized medical, nursing and paramedical personnel in the country. It also gives an idea regarding regional distribution and disparities. Human Resource indicators cover the details of allopathic doctors, dental surgeons, AYUSH doctors, nursing personnel and various paramedical health manpower in the country. Number of allopathic doctors possessing recognized medical qualifications (under IMC act) and registered with state medical councils for the years 2007 and 2008 were 708043 and 725190 respectively.
