Advanced college credit programs recognized by Truman State University include: Advanced Placement Program (AP) examinations International Baccalaureate Program (IB) examinations College Level Examination Program (CLEP) examinations Academic divisions are responsible for determining the specific credit awarded for each exam or course. Credit is awarded to matriculated, degree-seeking students who achieve at or above the required level on examinations or who have transferable credits from other accredited institutions. Students who have participated in dual credit programs and/or those who have earned prior college credit are required to have official transcripts sent from all colleges, universities, and programs through which credit has been attempted. Official transcripts and score reports for first-time undergraduate students and new transfer students must be sent to the Admissions Office prior to matriculation at Truman. In addition to these programs, matriculated students also have the opportunity to participate in Truman State University designed or controlled examinations that allow them to waive or fulfill certain degree requirements. Students interested in participating in these examinations should consult the Truman State University 2013-2014 General Catalog for additional information.
