To execute this vision, the library tries to create congenial atmosphere that will allow interface of library resources for integrative scholarship which is devoted to empowerment of women by providing resources and services with ICTs essential to teaching, learning. It serves the researchers to generate new frontiers of knowledge and dissemination of information through its various information and documentation activities. To realize this mission, the library is committed to create hospitable physical and virtual environment for study teaching and research. S.H.P.T. School of Library Science started in 1961 today offers M.L.I.Sc. and Ph.D. in Library Science. The course has incorporated latest trends in the subject and also offers courses in online format. About the Conference: The information marketplace has, in the last few years, undergone a metamorphosis. ICTs have been the main factor driving the change. Each and every component of the marketplace producers, distributers, other intermediaries and the users, have all been affected by the way, the authors produce their work, the way readers and users of information, receive and use information and also in the way information is published and marketed. Fresh players, modern technologies, innovative services, new user demands have all merged to push libraries to reinvent themselves, to re-think, the services to be provided and the skills required of the professional. The challenge of maintaining the service orientation of a social institution within an information marketplace which is fast changing, competitive, highly technological, and increasingly commercial, has also brought opportunities to develop new services, new employment markets and to seek fresh partners. The situation calls for a re-examination of the professional role and finding a new niche in the information marketplace. The journey of libraries from analog to hybrid to digital has posed both challenges and opportunities for the library professionals. We need to update ourselves and discuss different issues related to these changes and capitalize on our relationship with the existing customers, as well as other players in

the information marketplace. The Conference will provide a base for developing future potential of libraries.
