GENERAL DUTIES, ALL EXECUTIVE STAFF 1. Perform regular office duties at Barnett House or SARO. 2. Provide member assistance and answer member inquiries as required. 3. Participate in Association conferences and act on committees as assigned. 4. Participate in all meetings of executive staff and meetings of other staff as required. 5. Participate in provincially convened meetings, conventions, career events, meetings of locals, etc, as assigned. 6. Attend sessions of the Provincial Executive Council during which matters relating to their assignments are discussed. 7. Attend representative assemblies. 8. Participate in the Western Staff Development Conference or other staff conferences as approved. 9. Attend developmental and representational conferences as assigned. 10. Prepare reports and work on special projects as assigned. 11. Other duties as assigned. ROLE OF COORDINATORS 1. Organize the execution of approved programs. 2. Encourage and facilitate the work of other executive staff members. 3. Carry out new or difficult jobs. 4. Supervise the work of staff in the program area, as required by the Career Growth, Supervision and Evaluation policy. 5. Direct the work of executive staff in the program area, including the establishment of a duty officer schedule as required. 6. Maintain priorities and propose new ones as appropriate. 7. Propose new or altered programs to accomplish relevant Association objectives. 8. Act as member of the appropriate program/budget subcommittee and exercise budgetary control. 9. Prepare reports on the work of the program area as required and take other steps necessary to inform the president, members of Council and other staff. 10. Promote communication about program to members and the public as appropriate. 11. Attend meetings of the Provincial Executive Council as other duties allow.

(Coordinator, Member Services) 1. Act on committees COG; CTF (secretary); Diversity, Equity and Human Rights; 2018 CTF AGM Planning (secretary), Society for Safe and Caring Schools and Communities (vice-chair). 2. Organize and coordinate the work of the Association in Member Services: field service to locals, staffs and individuals, professional conduct and other matters. 3. Provide leadership in member services through consultation, anticipation of trends and planning. 4. Act as Association expert on international cooperation, liability and legal rights of teachers, and conflict resolution and mediation. 5. Be responsible for Association international cooperation program activities, including liaison with CTF and other agencies. 6. Provide assistance in transition for CTF Committee and international cooperation. 7. Direct the work of intermediate staff in Member Services. 8. Supervise intermediate staff in Member Services (both Barnett House and SARO), as required by the Career Growth, Supervision and Evaluation policy. 9. Be responsible for Member Services publications. 10. Serve as internal consultant to staff on matters relating to handling of professional conduct and practice review cases. 11. Assign board of reference and special cases to staff. 12. In consultation with the executive secretary, assign cases to other staff outside the program area when required. 13. Assign field services work to staff. 14. Prepare and present to Council reports on Member Service program. 15. Be responsible for the distribution and collection of local reports and for the compilation and dissemination of appropriate information therefrom. 16. Be responsible for reviewing and proposing changes in local and sublocal constitutions and make recommendations to Table Officers Committee. 17. Be responsible for the preparation and control of Member Services budget. 18. Be responsible for planning and conducting the professional conduct orientation and the practice review orientation. 19. Act as returning officer. 20. Supervise the conduct of Provincial Executive Council elections. 21. Act as director of the Local Presidents Seminar.

22. Serve on the National Coordinating Committee for UNESCO Associated Schools Project Network (ASPnet). 23. Assist with support for the Society for Safe and Caring Schools and Communities. 24. Provide consultation and/or advice to members, including francophone members, on referral or request re certification, teacher qualifications, employment and other problems or concerns, and provide representation. 25. Present Member Services presentations in English and French as required. 26. Assist with field service to locals. 27. Provide assistance to locals in developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating employee assistance programs. 28. Assist with the planning of the Diversity, Equity and Human Rights Conference. 29. Act as liaison with student local at Grande Prairie Regional College. 30. Serve as media contact for French language television and radio. 31. Take leadership role in dealing with concerns raised by francophone members. 32. Execute a program of direct contact with teachers, local officials and central office personnel in the francophone local.

(Associate Coordinator, Member Services Administrator Assistance) 1. Act on committees COG, School Administrator Issues and Concerns (member). 2. Act as Association expert on administrator issues and concerns. 3. Under the general direction of the executive secretary, coordinate advice and assistance to administrator members. 4. Provide consultation and/or advice to members on referral or request re certification, teacher qualifications, employment and other problems or concerns, and provide representation. 5. Complete all assigned professional conduct cases: carry out investigation; if hearing required, act as presenting officer; prepare related correspondence. 6. Handle board of reference cases as assigned: ensure appeal is properly lodged; work with 7. Maintain liaison with Alberta Education officials re school leadership. 8. Provide assistance to administrators and school staffs in resolving disputes where possible. 9. Prepare and maintain current a publication outlining Association services to administrators and the Association s view of the role of administrators. 10. Liaise with other program areas regarding administrator issues relating to them. 11. Assist with the Local Program Course as required. 12. Plan and direct the seminar on legal issues for school administrators.

(Associate Coordinator, Member Services) (SARO) 1. Be responsible for the overall operation of the Southern Alberta Regional Office (SARO) and direct the work of staff assigned to that location. 2. Act on committees COG. 3. In consultation with the coordinator of Member Services, assign field service, board of reference and other cases to Member Services executive staff based in SARO. 4. Provide consultation and/or advice to members on referral or request re certification, employment and other problems or concerns, and provide representation. 5. Handle professional conduct cases as assigned: carry out investigation; if hearing required, act as presenting officer; prepare related correspondence. 6. Handle board of reference cases as assigned: ensure appeal is properly lodged; work with 7. Present Member Services presentations including administrator presentations as required. 8. Assist with field service to locals. 9. Maintain a program of direct contact with local officials, administrator groups and central office personnel in SARO service area. 10. Provide advice and assistance to members in SARO service area on matters relating to EDB benefits. Represent or assist appellants from the SARO service area before the ASEBP EDB Appeal Committee. 11. Represent or assist appellants from the SARO service area before the Teacher Salary Qualifications Board. 12. Act as parliamentarian at representative assemblies. 13. Assist with Local Program Course as required.

(Member Services) 1. Act as liaison with the student locals at Campus Saint-Jean and Concordia University of Edmonton. 8. Assist with the Local Program Course as required. 9. Represent or assist appellants from the Barnett House service area before the Certification Appeal Committee. 10. Act as staff advisor on English as a Second Language Council.

(Member Services) 1. Act on committees Well-Being of Children and Youth (secretary). 2. Act as Association expert on teacher assistants, differentiated staffing and employee wellness with respect to working conditions. 3. Provide consultation and/or advice to members on referral or requests regarding certification, employment, and other problems or concerns, and provide representation. 4. Handle board of reference cases as assigned: ensure appeal is properly lodged, work with solicitor in preparation, attend hearings as appropriate. 5. Present Member Services presentations as required. 6. Assist with field service to locals. 7. Act as director of the conflict resolution project (Healthy Interactions). 8. Coordinate training program of the Staff Relations Service. 9. Execute a program of direct contact with teachers, locals and central office personnel in remote locals Northland, Fort Vermilion and other northern locals on a need/request basis. 10. Act as liaison with the student local at King s University. 11. Direct the Local Program Course, utilizing assistance of cross-program advisory group in planning and delivery. 12. Represent or assist appellants (other than those from the SARO service area) before the Teacher Salary Qualifications Board. 13. Assist with Summer Conference as required. 14. Act as staff advisor on Council for Inclusive Education and Religious and Moral Education Council.

(Member Services) 1. Act as Association expert on cyberbullying, FOIPP legislation and teacher supply and demand. 2. Provide consultation and/or advice to members on referral or request re certification, teacher qualifications, employment and other problems or concerns, and provide representation. 3. Complete all assigned professional conduct cases: carry out investigation; if hearing required, act as presenting officer; prepare related correspondence. 4. Handle board of reference cases as assigned: ensure appeal is properly lodged; work with 5. Act as one of two presenting officers for professional conduct hearings. 6. Present Member Services presentations including administrator presentations as required. 7. Plan and direct the Local Treasurers Seminar. 8. Assist with field service to locals. 9. Assist with school representative program, including local development and school representative initiatives. 10. Assist with Local Program Course as required. 11. Act as liaison with student locals at the University of Alberta and Keyano College.

(Member Services) 1. Act as Association expert on immigrant students. 2. Provide consultation and/or advice to members, including francophone members, on referral or request re certification, employment and other problems or concerns and English as an additional language learners, and provide representation. 3. Complete all assigned professional conduct cases: carry out investigation; if hearing required, act as presenting officer; prepare related correspondence. 4. Handle board of reference cases as assigned: ensure appeal is properly lodged; work with 5. Present Member Services presentations in English and French as required. 6. Plan and direct program of education for local secretaries. 7. Assist with field service to locals. 8. Act as liaison with the student local at Red Deer College. 9. Assist with the Local Program Course as required. 10. Act as alternate in representing or assisting appellants before the ASEBP EDB Appeal Committee as assigned. 11. Represent or assist appellants from the Barnett House service area before the Certification Appeal Committee. 12. Represent or assist appellants (other than those from the SARO service area) before the Teacher Salary Qualifications Board.

(Member Services) (SARO) 1. Act on committees First Nations, Métis and Inuit Education (secretary), Calgary Area Field Experiences Committee (secretary), Ambrose University Faculty of Education Council, Ambrose University Field Experiences Policy Advisory Committee, St Mary s University Faculty of Education Council, St Mary s University Field Experiences Policy Advisory Committee. 2. Act as Association expert on Aboriginal education. 3. Be responsible for support for First Nations, Métis and Inuit initiatives. 4. Support and assist the Joint Commitment to Action project and in the development and implementation of the Association response to the recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. 5. Maintain liaison with Department of Education officials with regard to First Nations, Métis and Inuit education. 6. Provide assistance to staff with respect to proper recognition when Association meetings and events are held on traditional First Nations, Métis and Inuit territory. 7. Act as staff advisor on First Nations, Métis and Inuit Education Council. 8. Provide consultation and/or advice to members on referral or request re certification, employment and other problems or concerns, and provide representation. 9. Complete all assigned professional conduct cases: carry out investigation; if hearing required, act as presenting officer; prepare related correspondence. 10. Handle board of reference cases as assigned: ensure appeal is properly lodged; work with solicitor in preparation; attend hearings as appropriate. 11. Present Member Services presentations as required. 12. Assist with program of continuing education for school administrators as time permits. 13. Be responsible for delivery of program for education classes at Ambrose University and St Mary s University and assist with delivery of program for education classes at University of Calgary. 14. Act as liaison with the student locals at Ambrose University, St Mary s University and University of Calgary. 15. Assist with field service to locals. 16. Assist with the Local Program Course as required. 17. Assist with programs for teachers new to the profession. 18. Maintain a program of direct contact with local officials, administrator groups and central office personnel in SARO service area. 19. Represent or assist appellants from the SARO service area before the Certification Appeal Committee. 20. Represent or assist appellants from the SARO service area before the Teacher Salary Qualifications Board. 21. Provide advice and assistance to members in SARO service area on matters relating to EDB benefits. Represent or assist appellants from the SARO service area before the ASEBP EDB Appeal Committee.

(Member Services) 1. (Member Services) (SARO) 1. Act on committees Mount Royal University Faculty of Education Council, Mount Royal University Field Experiences Policy Advisory, Careers: Next Generation Steering and Advisory. 2. Act as Association expert on corporate presence in schools, human rights issues and teacher board advisory and similar committees. 3. Provide consultation and/or advice to members on referral or request re certification, teacher qualifications, employment and other problems or concerns, and provide representation. 4. Complete all assigned professional conduct cases: carry out investigation; if hearing required, act as presenting officer; prepare related correspondence. 5. Handle board of reference cases as assigned: ensure appeal is properly lodged; work with 6. Act as one of two presenting officers for professional conduct hearings. 7. Present Member Services presentations as required. 8. Assist with field service to locals. 9. Serve as resident consultant for members with administrative designations from the SARO service area who seek advice, other than as victim, in personnel cases. 10. Act as staff advisor on Career and Technology Education Council.
