Edinburgh College Character... through Nurture, Learning and Service Term 4 December 6, 2017 Edinburgh Early Learning Centre Graduation and Concert Last night our ELC children presented the child's version of the story of Noah's Ark. There was singing, actions, laughter and celebrations. The night started with The Lord's Prayer sung by all the children. Then narration and singing of the Noah's Ark story. After the concert Mrs Rachel presented her Kindergarten Report and the class of 2017 marched into the hall with their gowns, hats and scarves. Families were overjoyed to see their children graduating from Kindergarten. Most of the 31 graduates attend Edinburgh College Primary in 2018. Thank you to the Edinburgh College Early Learning staff for their passion, nurturing and care of each child in our service. Thank you to over 450 families, friends and loved ones who joined us for the concert last night. Thank you for making Edinburgh Early Learning your choice of care. Last night was our first concert and graduation held in the Secondary gymnasium. We would like to thank Mr Tim Borgas and the staff for their full support of the program. The Class of 2017 Formal Dinner On a warm and fabulously sunny afternoon, the class of 2017 gathered with friends and family on the front lawns of Edinburgh College.Following some photo opportunities and canapés, the group travelled to Sky High Restaurant in the Dandenong Mountains for their Year 12 Formal dinner. A lovely evening of socialising, speeches, reminiscing and good food was shared and it was great to spend time together celebrating the partnership between parents, the college staff and students. Edinburgh College salutes the class of 2017 and wishes these young men God s richest blessings as they now embark on the next chapter of life s journey. - Mr Smith We extend an invitation to all families and friends to attend our end of year programs. Lunchtimes took a very competitive turn as Melba, Yarra and Gilson competed to get into the Ambit Games Volleyball finals held last Friday. Anna s many roles in her 10 years of teaching have included Acting Deputy Principal, 3IC, Level Leader, Sports Coordinator as well as Classroom Teacher. Her subjects include PDHPE, Math, Bible and SOSE. After attending the Aspiring Young Leaders Conference in 2014, Anna undertook and completed her Masters of Education (Admin). More recently, Anna was selected by Google Education to participate in the 2017 Google Innovator program. This prestigious honour took her to Sweden and will see her seek to implement her innovation in the future. Passionate about leadership and elearning, Anna will bring a wealth of ideas and skills as she takes up this new challenge. Mrs Linda Hunter Learning Support Officer (Secondary) Mrs Hunter has been coordinating Learning Support at North Pine Adventist College for a number of years and is looking forward to joining our team at Edinburgh. Mrs Bronwyn De Beer Senior Physics & Maths Mrs De Beer is an experiences, engaging and nurturing teacher who is looking forward to inspiring our senior students in their study of Physics and Maths. Mrs Elaine Liebrandt - Receptionist (Primary) Mrs Liebrandt, who is married to Pr Liebrandt, will be moving down from Wangaratta to be based in the Yarra Valley area next year. She has been a receptionist to three corporate companies in South Africa and has already begun transition days with Mrs Dunne. Mrs Liebrandt and Mrs Dunne are excited about this new opportunity. We praise God for His leading in the process of employing new staff. We look forward to working with the new team members in 2018. - Mr Borgas ASV Early Learning Centre Teams Celebrate 2017 On Tuesday evening, the Early Learning staff from Edinburgh College joined with staff from Nunawading and Heritage Early Learning Centres to celebrate the busy but successful year. The night was full of fun and Christmas joy. How lovely it is to be able to share our skills and ideas and help each other to prepare for next year. December 11 to 14 at Edinburgh College Next Monday, Road to Bethlehem will commence. Over 14,000 people will visit Edinburgh College grounds to experience this special event. There is much to do and we really need your help. The RTB Construction Team NEEDS YOU HELP! All volunteers must SIGN IN on Sunday at the Primary Art Room from 8:00am on. A free lunch is provided. Highlighted in red are the set days we need to focus on. Today, 6th Dec. after work until 8:30pm. Gift Bag Packing: Saturday, 9th Dec. 3-6pm in the Edinburgh College Secondary Gym Set Up Sunday: 10th Dec. 8:00am till finished (lunch provided). You can help by setting up marquees, ironing, washing and setting out tables and chairs all easy tasks. Ironing: Bring your iron and ironing board and help iron costumes for an hour or so on Sunday. RtB has evolved into a very professional and well known production with more than 14,000 people attending over four nights. Over 400 volunteers are involved in running RtB. Primary Calendar Final Newsletter for 2017 This is our last Edinburgh College Newsletter for the year. An information pack will be sent to enrolled families in mid January.
