Global Leaders in Vancouver is a program designed specifically with the student in mind. Beginning in the classroom, more advanced students will work on developing valuable life skills, such as leadership development, goal-setting and English proficiency, while other students will work on developing their English skills. In the afternoons, students will take part in exciting activities and field trips and join either our Athletic or Artistic club. where does the program take place? The City of Vancouver As one of the world s most famous cities, Vancouver offers a wealth of sight-seeing options and activities for anyone visiting. Whether it is enjoying the beauty around Stanley Park, taking in the sights or viewing the city from high atop Grouse, there is something for everyone to do. Home to the 2010 Winter Olympics, Vancouver is often praised as one of the most beautiful cities in the world and when you come to visit, you will surely understand why! UBC Campus Grounds & Classrooms Located just outside Vancouver, the University of British Columbia is one of Canada s most famous and recognized universities. Students participating in the Global Leaders program will be studying on campus and living in residence at UBC. Whereas both groups will study the fundamental skills needed to master any language, such as listening, speaking, grammar, reading, writing and pronunciation, the more advanced students will include goal setting and will have curriculum based around leadership skills. Clubs are an opportunity for students to develop their English while practicing and learning other new skills. Students will choose to either join our athletics program or our artistic program. In each of these, the students will begin by practicing skills related to the club and then have the opportunity to put their skills into use, whether it be through competition in athletic clubs or presentations of their works in the artistic clubs.
