Write verbal phrases as simple algebraic expressions. Scholars will apply these concepts to real world situations. 6th Grade Standards CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.6.EE.A.1 Write and evaluate numerical expressions involving whole-number exponents *Assessments: Every other Friday. Take- over Tuesday. 7th Grade- Scholars are using The Number System to solve real world situations. They will add, subtract, multiply, and divide integers. Add integers Subtract integers Multiply integers Divide integers 7th Grade Standards: CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.7.NS.A.1 Apply and extend previous understandings of addition and subtraction to add and subtract rational numbers; represent addition and subtraction on a horizontal or vertical number line diagram. CSS.MATH.CONTENT.7.NS.A.1.C Understand subtraction of rational numbers as adding the additive inverse, p - q = p+ (-q). Show that the distance between two rational numbers on the number line is the absolute value of their difference, and apply this principle in real-world contexts. Also they will be using Historical Sources and Evidence Constitution and arguments to prove these historical events. 7th grade will be focusing on Religion, Culture, Beliefs, and conflicts. They will be able to understand and analyze that culture is a way of life for people with shared customs and beliefs. They will also focus and understand that tolerance and understanding could lead to increased cooperation and true peace amongst nations. Dear Parents, The science department would like to inform you about the upcoming 2017-18 Imagine Foundations at Morningside STEM Fair. All middle school scholars are required to complete a STEM Fair investigation. STEM Fair Journals were sent home on December 21, 2017. These journals include all the parts, dates, and requirements for the STEM Fair investigation. The components of the project will be graded as classwork, homework, or assessments as stated in the STEM Fair Journal. The due dates for each section of the investigation are as follows: Classwork- 1. Question- Due 1/2/18 2. Hypothesis- Due 1/2/18 3. Variables- Due 1/2/18 Homework- 1. Materials- Due 1/5/18 2. Important Updates: All students must have a one subject science journal for science class. This is how scholars keep track of their work, grades, and can also be used as a resource for practice and studying for tests. Check classdojo weekly for updates on what we are reviewing in class. Scholars also are required to bring a chromebook with them to class everyday. STEM Fair is approaching fast. It is time to start thinking about a testable question to pick for your scholar s project.
