ADMISSION ORDER No. Exam.Cell./M.Phil /2018 01.06.2018 Shri/Smt./Kum.------------------------- is hereby informed that the Admission Committee of the Institute has selected him/her for admission to the Master of Philosophy in Population Studies/Biostatistics & Demography, as the case may be of this Institute for 2018-2019 session. He/She has been awarded a Government of India fellowship @ Rs. 6,000/- per month along with a contingency grant of Rs. 5,000/- per annum. The period of fellowship is 11 months or till the end of the academic session 2018-2019, whichever is earlier. He/She should produce certificates of age, academic qualifications and other testimonials (in original) and copies of research/published papers, if any, at the time of joining the course. 1. If the candidate is currently employed, he/she should bring with him/her: (i) No Objection Certificate from the employer, if the application was not forwarded through proper channel. (ii) A certificate from the employer that on completion of the training he/she will be absorbed by the employer to the same post/any other suitable higher post. 2. The offer is subject to the following terms and conditions: (i) The academic session shall commence on July 11, 2018. Hence, the selected candidates are required to report on the opening day without fail. During the period of fellowship, he/she shall be a full-time student at the Institute. (ii) Candidate is strictly not allowed to draw or receive any salary, emolument, stipend, etc. from any other source during the tenure of the award. If found violated, his/her admission will be cancelled without any further notice. (iii) Candidates with a Master s degree in Population Studies/Demography/Biostatistics and Epidemiology/Health Statistics from a recognized university are eligible for admission. If anyone is found to be ineligible, his/her admission will stand automatically cancelled and the fees paid will be refunded, in due course. (iv) All the candidates must produce all their original mark sheets and certificates at the time of joining failing which admission will not be offered. (v) Candidates must produce proof of having secured 55% and 50% of aggregate marks in general/obc and SC/ST/PH categories, respectively, failing which admission will stand cancelled. Those awaiting results must produce marks upto previous semesters to fulfill the above condition. They become eligible to receive fellowship only upon submission of final marks fulfilling the minimum marks eligibility criteria. (vi) Candidates belonging to reserved categories must produce original caste certificate at the time of joining. In case of OBC category, non-creamy layer certificate issued by competent authority in the previous financial year (1 st April 2017 to 31 st March 2018) must be submitted, failing which admission will stand cancelled. (vii) Hostel accommodation will be provided as per the rule of the Institute and is subject to the availability. (viii) The admission is subject to the candidate passing the medical examination conducted by the Medical Officer appointed by the Institute and his/her executing a bond as given in (xii) below. (ix) The candidates are not entitled to any kind of leave during the course. But in special circumstances, leave upto a maximum of 4 days in a semester period may be granted, with prior permission of the Director. (x) The candidates are required to be punctual in class-room attendance and to participate in various discussions/seminars/study tours etc., regularly.
(xi) (xii) (xiii) (xiv) The candidates are required to pay fees via online portal viz; Online Payment of Fees on the Institute s website on or before June 15, 2018 failing which their admission shall be cancelled and the wait-listed candidates shall be offered the admission. Student may visit the website www.iipsindia.org and use the link Online Payment of Fees on the Hompage or Admission or Announcement Section or by browsing the url http://www.iipsindia.org/ paymentonline.htm to remit their fees. For this purpose, all the students have the option to use their credit cards or debit cards or make direct online bank transfer. Those who do not have any of these options can use offline mode to fill in required particulars, print payment slip and remit by cash or cheque or by account transfer at any of the local SBI branch offices. All the students should submit a copy of remittance slip each to the Academic Section and Accounts Section, respectively, at the time of joining the programme, for records. A schedule of fees to be paid by the students is enclosed. The refundable deposits will be returned only on producing `No Due Certificate from the library, Computer Centre, Hostel and Accounts. The candidates are required to execute a bond that he/she will faithfully and honestly observe all the terms and conditions mentioned above and also such other instructions as may be amended from the time to time during the period of his/her study/training at the Institute for the entire academic session. In the event of his/her failure to observe any of the terms and conditions stipulated or in the event of his/her discontinuing training/study, the fellowship will be discontinued and he/she will have to refund the whole amount of fellowship received by him/her till that date. All the candidates are required to complete the M.Phil course work. Those who qualify for JRF/any other fellowship may be allowed to continue for PhD subject to fulfilling eligibility. All others (without JRF/any other fellowship) will continue M.Phil with GOI fellowship and exit with the M.Phil degree, subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria. 3. The fellowship may be terminated if: a) the candidate fails to produce final year (M.A./M.Sc./MPS) marks list and degree/provisional passing certificate at the time of joining, b) his/her performance in the first semester is not found satisfactory, or c) his/her conduct is found unsatisfactory on the basis of indiscipline of any act as is likely to undermine the prestige of the Institute, or endanger harmony of academic life of the Institute or is likely to violate the rules of the institute. In case the fellowship is terminated, he/she will be required to refund the whole of the fellowship money drawn till that date provided the action against him/her has not been contemplated on the ground of unsatisfactory performance as stated above in Clause (b). 4. He/She should produce Migration Certificate within three months from the date of admission. He/She should acknowledge receipt of this letter and let the undersigned know if he/she is prepared to accept the offer on the terms and conditions mentioned above. In case the offer is accepted, he/she should confirm acceptance to the undersigned in writing, immediately. If no reply is received, it will be presumed that he/she is not interested in the offer, and next person in the waiting list will be given the offer. No further correspondence in this regard will be entertained. He/She is advised to communicate his/her acceptance of this offer by a written reply, immediately. AND upon making such refund/payment the above written obligation shall be void and of no effect, otherwise it shall be and remain in full force and virtue. PROVIDED ALWAYS THAT the liability of the said (surety) hereunder shall not be impaired or discharged by the reason of time being granted any forbearance, act or omission of the International Institute for Population Sciences of any person authorised by the International Institute for Population Sciences (whether with or without the consent or knowledge of the said
