Do I need to fill out another application? I ve already turned one in. Well maybe. ALL adult leaders will DEFINITELY need to have a new 2018 Background Check on file as it is a UK requirement every 5 years. It s only 1 page of the volunteer application packet & most of you will fall into this category others may need to complete reference information or possibly the whole packet; so please check with me or one of the office staff assistants @ 859-498-8741 A.S.A.P. PAGE 2 - MARCH 2018 4-H LIVESTOCK CLUB The members had a nutrition and animal selection class presented by Hinton Mills/Purina Feeds. The guest speaker was Matt Watson of Flemingsburg, KY. Pictured is a taste testing event that featured lamb, beef, pork, and goat as well goat cheese and goat meat during our Skillathon clinic. 4-H LIVESTOCK CLUB The members had different stations set up during the Skillathon clinic in January. PAGE 3 - MARCH 2018 4-H SADDLE CLUB January's meeting included special guests Tiffany and Britney Vice Arizpe. They talked to the club about the importance of proper tack for horses and importance of a correct bit. We had a great time. There are a lot of fun and exciting events planned for the upcoming months. If you would like to attend, please contact Jamie Agee for details. PAGE 5 MARCH 2018 The MONTGOMERY COUNTY 4-H SHOOTING SPORTS Club s ANNUAL CHILI SUPPER & LIVE AUCTION IS SOON! The Montgomery County 4-H Shooting Sports Club met on 1-23-18 to start the new year strong! We have many exciting things planned. We will be hosting the annual Chili Cook Off and Auction on Saturday, March 24, 2018. The cost of admission will be $6 while kids under 5 will eat free. There will be great food, and items at reasonable prices on auction so make sure to mark your calendars. If you know anyone who would be willing to make any sort of donation, please contact Coordinator Jessica Bailey. Fliers and donation forms for the event can be obtained at the Montgomery County Extension Office. The 4-H Shooting Sports Camp will be on Wednesday, April 4 through Saturday, April 7. The cost of the camp is $140 per camper. See the Extension Office for more details. Also, if anyone is interested in joining the shooting sports team you will need to do so quickly as open enrollment ends April 1, or when we reach 60 participants.
