Combined Clinical and Research Training Academic Training Program Overview Our Goal: Train Academic Cardiologists Our Role: Provide facilities, milieu, administrative support, guidance, mentors for outstanding clinical and research training and launching of a lifetime career. Three to five-year combined clinical and research training Generally start with clinical training (pros & cons) Option: Three-year cardiology, plus advanced training (EP/Interventional/Heart Failure/Transplant/Imaging) Option: Clinical Investigator Pathway Transitional appointments: Staff physician, research fellow Establish credibility as independent clinician and investigator
