Expectations of Riverdale Athletes Maintain all requirements established by the FHSAA for eligibility: - GPA of 2.0 or higher - All Parts of the Consent and Release of Liability Certificate - Insurance (Accident an Hospitalization or School Insurance - Preparticipation Physical Evaluation Form - Physical Examination by Doctor - Emergency Card/Participation Card Athletes are required to attend all practices, weight training, conditioning sessions, and other events designated by the coaches. Doctor, dental and other appointments must be scheduled around individual sports teams calendars, if possible. Excused absences are approved by the coach and allowed for personal illness, family related issues, and death in the immediate family. If athletes work, arrangements must be made with their place of employment to accommodate the practice an game requirements of a Riverdale athlete. Missing practice or leaving practice early for work is unacceptable. Practices will be held Monday through Friday and an occasional Saturday. Times will be set at the coaches discretion. Athletes should dress appropriately for practice. Athletes must be present in school for at least half of their schedule periods the day of a game, event, or practice in order to participate. If school is not in session (holiday/duty day), student must be in attendance at least half of their scheduled periods on the previous school day. If an emergency should occur which would prohibit participation in a scheduled event, the coach should be notified immediately by the athlete/parent/guardian. Athletes should exhibit exemplary behavior while in attendance at school and all athletic events. Any missed practices, the parent/guardian should let the coach know why athlete was not in attendance.
Expectations of Riverdale Athletes Athletes are required to ride the school bus to and from all athletic events, or follow the Lee County Transportation Policy. An athlete may be placed on a two-week probation followed by dismissal for any of the following reasons: - Suspension from school for any reason. - Gross disrespect or disobedience to the coach or anyone in authority. - Improper conduct that reflects on Riverdale High School Of campus any illegal use of or possession of drugs, alcohol, or tobacco could result in an immediate dismissal from an athletic team. On campus school rules will be applied to the incident. Theft of any possessions of a team member will lead to immediate dismissal from the team. Before you can start a season with a new team, all uniforms, equipment, and moneys owed must be returned for the team season completed prior. If an athlete quits a team, he or she will not be permitted to begin another sport without the approval of the coach whose team he or she quit, the athletic director, and the assistant principal who supervises the athletic program. Any disciplinary action of an athlete administered at practice or at a game should be reported by the athlete to his/her parents or guardians. The coach will follow up the disciplinary action with a call to the parents. Our coaches will ask you the following three questions: - Can I trust you? - Are you committed to strive for excellence in your sport or sports? - Do you care about the people and the institution around you?

In order to provide the best experience for the student athletes, we must rely on support from the school, the parents, and the community.
