The B.Ed college came into existence on October 2006 with NCTE approval No. FSRO: 7311, dated 30-08-2006.We have received permanent affiliation from NCTE on 29.03.2011. Principal i/c Dr. T. Sarala About the B.Ed Regular Programme and Instruments The duration the course is one academic year. The B.Ed College functions as self supporting mode of the University. The B.Ed College is equipped with sufficient infrastructure facilities like adequate number of Class Rooms, Equipments, Furniture, Photo copy Machine, Computers, Psychological instruments, Educational Technology equipments like T.V., Camera, Tape recorder. LCD Projector, CDs etc., There is a well equipped library with 3150 books. Semester pattern with internal marks and credit system is followed in the College B.Ed, students are placed in various schools of Tamil Nadu immediately after completion of their course. The optional subjects offered are Tamil, English, Social Science, Mathematics, Physical Science, Biological Science, Commerce, Computer Science, Economics and Home Science depending upon the demand from students every year. It produces 100% results. Eligibility for Admission to the course: A candidate shall be eligible for admission to the course leading to the Degree of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) provided. The candidates who have undergone 10+2+3 (15) pattern of study and passed the X and XII examinations conducted by the respective State Board or CBSE or any other recognized Board of Education/ Examination and UG Degree examination of the UGC approved Universities in any one of the school subjects offered by the Directorate of School Education at the Secondary / Higher Secondary Education level. Candidates who have passed the UG or PG degree in Open University System without qualifying in 11 years SSLC examination shall not be considered for admission. Candidates with the following marks in the Bachelor s Degree are eligible for admission to the course other than subjects like Economics, Commerce & Home Science.

Medium of internship/ Teaching practice may be decided by the Principals of Women s University College of Education in consultation with the respective teacher educators based on the communication abilities of Student-Teachers in either English or Tamil. Attendance: Each candidate whose admission is approved by Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University should gain 75% of attendance, failing which they will not be permitted to appear for the B.Ed degree examination. College Library Women s University College of Education has 3200 books for the benefit of the reference by the students of B.Ed with Journals and Magazines. Central Library: In addition to the college of Education Library a student of B.Ed., programme has the privilege of using two more libraries in the campus. (i.e) Central Library with 51000 volumes and the Department of Education Library with 3150 volumes. Counseling Cell is there to guide the student teachers. Physical Education is compulsory for the trainees. Hostel Facility: Hostel is available for the girls in the University campus itself in this Hill station. Assembly Hall: An auditorium is available to accommodate all the students. Another big hall is there for common classes to accommodate 100 candidates. Separate lecture halls are non allotted for optional subjects. Laboratories are specifically established for the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Psychology, Language, Educational Technology, Information Technology, Arts and Craft. Separate Board of Studies for B.Ed. Programme is constituted and it has prepared syllabus.
