Hello and welcome to Julys 2018 edition of Addactions activity timetable. This month we have all of our usual groups on offer. Are you interested in becoming a Community Recovery Champion? Do you want to gain new skills? Then why not join our group at Croxteth or Central. The group is relaxed and chilled and run by a dedicated trainer.the group has been very beneficial in the past for people who have completed the programme. It s an excellent opportunity if you feel ready to move forward and want to enhance your knowledge, experience and skills. Typing skills, word, outlook etc. Delivered either 1:1 or in a group session depending on individual needs that includes cv writing, application form writing, job searching, career pathways, designated mock interviews, online job searching, UJM and job matching Learn how to set up online accounts i.e. ebay, Social Media and shopping A range of accredited courses including: health and social care, nutrition, information advice & guidance Half day session identifies how we feel when we are pre-change compared to changing self talk strategies to assist us during a change period Half day session looks at signs of hostility, when it s a danger signal, things we say or do that intensify or diffuse a tricky situation A half day session discussing how much sleep we need; how to prepare for sleep; things we can do or avoid to aid better sleep planning a personal presleep ritual for better sleep 12 week structured personal development programme Participants will leave with 5 core skills: IT skills, Money management, work placements/volunteering opportunities, Personal/social development, Customer services skills A programme to look at anger, how to manage anger and the effects of anger on yourself and others A recognised 12 week programme condensed into three full days or 6 half day course to help women identify abusive behaviours and beliefs held by abusive men and show how domestic abuse affects children A two day course that enables perpetrators to recognise their negative behaviours and how this impacts on themselves and others An 8 week rolling programme on various topics, men s health, nutrition and well -being Half day session on how we hear compared to how we listen, active listening techniques, how to open up a topic of conversation, body language to encourage communication, basic do s and don ts Half day workshop using techniques to feel more confident, personal planning to boost confidence

The two hour sessions at Croxteth will consist of 45 minutes of mindfulness for beginners, a 15 minute break and an hour relaxation session. North ARC Croxteth Wednesday10.00 11.30 Beginners mindfulness will introduce you to when to use and practice mindfulness and how it can help you. It will introduce techniques such as; Mindful breathing Mindful movement Mindfulness of sounds Mindfulness of the body North ARC Monday and Tuesday 10am 4pm Central ARC Thursdays 10am 4pm The relaxation session will involve progressive muscle relaxation techniques and guided imagery to help soothe and relax your mind.
