MYP 5 - IB DIPLOMA PROGRAMME SUBJECT CHOICE FORM STUDENT: CLASS: DATE: To be completed by all MP5 students / external applicants wishing to follow the Diploma Programme at ISRLO please read the information alongside the group carefully before completing this form. Identify subject choices clearly by ticking the appropriate boxes. o All subjects are offered at Higher or Standard levels unless otherwise indicated. Please be aware that some subjects will be taught as combined classes. o Subjects may not be offered if there are insufficient numbers of interested students. o Certain subject choices may not available due to schedule clashes (please see the IBDP subject clashes sheet for details). Please discuss with the careers counsellor if the schedule clashes prevent you from choosing a combination of subjects you would like to study. o The IB Diploma Programme at ISRLO consists of : Group 1: One language A obligatory. Group 1 HL SL English A Literature English A Language and Literature Dutch A Literature Dutch A Language and Literature Self taught Literature: We offer English A and Dutch A for Literature and Language and Literature programmes. We can also offer other mothertongue languages as a schoolsupported self-taught course (standard level only). Group 2: A second language obligatory. It is possible for a student to follow a language B listed below or a second language A from the choices above Group 2 HL SL Dutch B Spanish B We offer English, French, Spanish and Dutch at Language B level. Group 3: One humanities obligatory. Group 3 HL SL History Economics Geography Business & Management Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS) We offer History, Economics, Geography, Business and Management and ESS. Please note ESS is a transdisciplinary subject which may be taken as a Group 3 or 4 subject Group 4 - One science obligatory. Group 4 HL SL Biology Physics Chemistry Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS) We offer Biology, Physics and Chemistry and ESS. Please note ESS is a transdisciplinary subject which may be taken as a Group 3 or 4 subject Group 5 - One mathematics subject obligatory. Group 5 HL SL Mathematics Mathematics Mathematics Studies We offer Mathematics Higher Level, Mathematics Standard Level or Mathematical Studies (standard level) Group 6 - Elective obligatory. Group 6 HL SL Visual Arts Other: Humanities: Other: Science: Other: Language: We offer a Group 6 subject = Visual Arts. Alternatively it is possible to choose a third language, a second humanity or a second science (selected from the choices offered above) 2 P a g e
7 th subject It is possible to study an additional 7 th subject from any of the Groups above with the exception of Group 5 (Mathematics). Any 7 th subject would not form part of the Diploma, instead an IB certificate will be issued at the end of the course. Please indicate your choice of 7 th subject, if desired, by placing a 7 in the appropriate box above. For further details, please contact the careers counsellor. An example of when a student would take a 7 th subject is if they wished to apply to follow Medicine in The Netherlands at a Dutch University for which three sciences are required.
