It provides an inter-disciplinary academic environment backed by excellent infrastructure including a specialized library and state-of-art computer facilities. The Institute broadly follows the UGC pay scales for academic positions. General Qualifications : (a) Essential Qualifications : (i) Academic Qualifications: Minimum of High Second Class Post Graduate Degree (with 55% and above marks) with Ph.D. in the relevant discipline in Social Sciences/ Public Policy/ Economics/ Statistics/ Econometrics/ Development Studies/ Natural Resources Management/ Agriculture Economics with Ph.D. in the relevant areas as mentioned in Sl.No.III. Or Minimum High Second Class Master s degree in any of the Technical disciplines with Ph.D. Minimum High Second Class M.Tech. degree in any of the relevant discipline. Or ii) Experience: Two years of experience in teaching in a recognised University or training and / or research in an Institution or relevant field experience in any Engineering/ Technological area relevant to Rural Development; and

b) Desirable Qualifications : Independent research experience with published books and research papers in the relevant field. II. ASSOCIATE PROFESSORS 1. Scale of pay of Rs.37400-67000 with AGP of Rs.9000/- 2. General Qualifications : (a) Essential Qualifications : (i) Academic Qualifications: First or High Second Class Post Graduate Degree (55% and above) in Social Sciences/ Public Policy/ Economics/ Statistics/ Econometrics/ Development Studies/ Natural Resources Management/ Agriculture Economics with Ph.D. in the relevant areas as mentioned in Sl.No.III. (ii) Experience: Atleast 7 years of experience in teaching in a recognized University or training and / or research in any recognized Institution/ Consultancy in the relevant discipline/ subject, of which a minimum 5 years should be at a level of Lecturer in the University or equivalent thereto. (b) Desirable Qualifications : Independent research experience / published books/ papers based on original work, etc., and should have made remarkable contribution in the area of scholarship, evidenced by quality of publications, contribution to educational innovation, design of new courses and curriculum. III. Qualification and experience of the candidates must be relevant to any of the following areas related to Rural Development : i. Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation ii. Agrarian Studies iii. Natural Resources Management iv. Enterprise Development / Livelihoods v. Wage Employment vi. Equity and Social Development vii. Panchayati Raj and Local Governance viii. Quantitative Techniques ix. Gender Studies and Women Development x. Development Studies Applicants are advised to indicate area of their suitability based on their qualification and experience in the prescribed application form at the top.

IV. GENERAL INFORMATION : 1) Age: No age limit for the above posts. However, present age of superannuation of employees is 60 years at NIRD. Note: Persons with different disabilities may also apply, subject to eligibility. 2) Salary structure: NIRD follows UGC VI Pay Commission Scales of Pay for its faculty members. Residential accommodation on payment of normal rent in NIRD Campus will be provided subject to availability. V. General Conditions: 1) Applicants who are serving employees should submit their applications through proper channel and pay certificate duly signed by the pay drawing authority to be attached along with details of experience and present status.
