The 15 months AICTE approved PG Exec program has now been recast into a General Management Program on the lines of globally proven general management courses as delivered in Universities in US and Europe. This programme is now structured around the unique leadership and organizational challenges that global companies face today. Two major areas of emphasis for this course are Leadership and Strategic Focus.
These areas of expertise are important for participants of this course having over 5 years of corporate experience to give a boost to their career to the next level and accelerate their transition from functional/technical area to general management. This program is crafted to fill the knowledge gaps in essential management disciplines and prepare the participants to an elevated general management role by moving them from mastery in one specific area to a much broader and wider business leadership domain. In essence, moving the participants focus from Line Management to Managing People and Resources for delivering Value for the Organization. The courses in each of the Trimesters are developed to impart the required skills and knowledge in the participants
It is expected to instill confidence in the participants to manage the complexity involved in a general management role. Courses such as Strategic Marketing Management, Strategic Talent Management, Managerial Economics, Business Development, Country Analysis for Global Marketing, Enterprise Architecture, Strategic Management Simulation, Strategic Brand Management, Mergers, Acquisitions and Corporate Restructuring, Strategic Leadership &Change Management, Leadership Incubator, Digital Project Management, Design Thinking, Cloud Computing, Digital Marketing, Strategic Risk Management, Big Data Analysis, International Finance, etc are structured specifically for this General Management program Besides these main courses, we have also structured some booster workshops viz Corporate Social Responsibility (including immersion), Winning Negotiations and Decision Making, Labour Laws, Marketing Engineering, Advanced Logistic Tools, Shopper Experience Management, Six Sigma, Rural Marketing (including Offsite Workshop), Analyzing Equity using Technical Analysis.
These workshops are meant to supplement and complement the General Management skills to be delivered to the participants. The course delivery is also structured differently with a senior SIMSR faculty anchoring a particular course complemented by an Industry specialist to bring in the practical aspect of the course into the classroom. Also, the class room is completely separate from the PGDM classroom area and is located in the MDP area on the 4th floor of the old SIMSR building. The only common premises shared is the Library and Hostel facilities
