REFERENCES Indiana University School of Law Indianapolis strongly recommends that your letters of recommendation be submitted through the LSAC letters of recommendation service that serves all member schools. This service is included in your LSDAS Registration subscription. Your letters will be copied and sent to us along with your LSDAS Report. Be sure to fill out and give each letter writer a letter of recommendation form from the LSAT/LSDAS Registration and Information Book. You may submit up to three letters of recommendation. Such letters will be considered by the Committee on Admissions. Ordinarily, the most useful references come from professors who have personal knowledge of your academic performance and intellectual potential. Applicants who have been out of school for some time may wish to submit letters from employers or others who know them well.

OTHER INFORMATION The two most important admission criteria at the Indiana University School of Law Indianapolis are the LSAT score and the undergraduate record. Nonetheless, the Committee on Admissions is aware that a rational admission decision must rest upon more than a rank ordering of applicants based upon an index number derived from the LSAT and undergraduate GPA. Accordingly, the following information will also be considered to help us evaluate candidates and select an entering class with diversified backgrounds and experiences. You may include a separate sheet if you need more space. 1. State the nature and the extent of employment, if any, while you were enrolled in your undergraduate program, and include an assessment of the time commitment involved. Employer Title/duties Approximate Dates of employment hours per week 2. Describe any significant extracurricular activities or significant responsibilities during the time you obtained your degree(s), and include an assessment of the time commitment involved. 3. Describe any academic honors or civic awards you have received. 4. Describe any significant postgraduate employment or volunteer experiences.

5. Describe any significant community service work in which you have been involved both during and after your undergraduate program. 6. You are encouraged to enclose a personal statement of no more than two pages that you have composed and written yourself and that tells us more about you and your reasons for seeking a legal education. You may wish to elaborate on information you have already provided in this application, or you may wish to discuss other matters that you believe would be helpful to the Committee on Admissions.
