Term 2 Week 1 21 st April 2017 A very warm welcome back to all of our students, families and staff and we welcome our new students and their respective families who have started at the wonderful Rangeville this term. We hope everyone had a safe and relaxing Easter holiday and it is wonderful to see every student back and straight into Being a Learner. This ten week term will see all of our students strive for personal academic, social and sporting improvements. Major focuses for us will be, ANZAC Day, NAPLAN for our Year 3 and 5 students, Report Cards, Athletics Carnival and continued facilities works planned for this term. Cross Country Congratulations to all students who did a fabulous job competing in our annual Cross Country and Fun Run event last term and today. Thank you Mr Cobb, our Year 6 students, Mr Free and all staff and parents for their efforts in organising and running the various cross country days. The feedback received and subsequent small changes made by Mr Cobb for today s Prep Year 2 cross country has certainly seen a very smooth and successful day occur. ANZAC Day Service Our annual ANZAC Day Service will be held at 9 am on Monday the 24 th of April in our Hall. All students are encouraged to wear their formal uniform. This will again be another wonderful opportunity for our school and community to gather and remember such a significant event in our National history. Facilities Update Drainage: Over the holidays considerable work was done to the drainage issues in lower E block and out the front of our main gate. Cementing will be conducted as soon as possible and the area will be fenced off until work has been completed. Trees: As previously discussed with the P&C, the three trees between E and G blocks have been assessed due to their current safety concerns as a result of disease and root damage to pavements and drainage. An independent arborist assessment has recommended that these be removed and this work will occur in the near future. Once the trees have been removed and paving and drainage has been repaired, we will work with our P&C to install suitable shade structures for our students and community. Staff News: Miss Kimberly Moffit will continue as the Year 2/3 teacher for the rest of this semester. Mrs Wendy Jackson (STLaN) is currently on 3 weeks Long Service Leave and will be replaced by Mrs Julie Atkinson.
