What is the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program? (IBDP) The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is a two-year educational programme primarily aimed at students aged 16 19. The programme is one that provides an internationally accepted qualification for entry into higher education, and is accepted by many universities worldwide.

What is the goal of IB? IB aspires to help schools develop well-rounded students with character who respond to challenges with optimism an open mind, are confident in their identities, make ethical decisions, join with others in celebrating our common humanity and are prepared to apply what they learn in realworld, complex and unpredictable situations [From: The IB Diploma Program: Education for a Better World]

Importance of CAS in the IB Programme This programme provides for the well rounded development of imaginative, fit and compassionate young people who leave school ready and able to participate in the life of the wider community.

Importance of TOK in the IB Programme The theory of knowledge (TOK) course encourages students to think about the nature of knowledge, to reflect on the process of learning in all the subjects they study as part of their Diploma Programme course, and to make connections across the academic areas.

Importance of EE in the IB Programme The extended essay, a substantial piece of writing of up to 4,000 words, enables students to investigate a topic of special interest that they have chosen themselves. It also encourages them to develop the skills of independent research that will be expected at university.
