Property Representatives Course Thinking of a career in real estate? A career in the Real Estate Industry can be very rewarding with a number of fields of practice to choose from. Whether you are thinking of a career in Sales, Property Management, Body Corporate Management, Real Estate Office Support or Auctioneering, REIT can assist you to achieve your career goals. The Property Representatives Course is the first step to achieving that goal. The course offered by the Real Estate Institute of Tasmania provides the knowledge to assist in the development of skills necessary to effectively undertake the roles of a Property Representative. Course Overview To be a Property Representative in Tasmania requires registration with the Property Agents Board. In order to obtain your licence to work in real estate you are required to pass an exam with the Property Agents Board. The Property Representatives Course provides the underpinning knowledge to sit this exam. Exam The Property Agents Board conducts the exam for the Property Representatives licence. Exams are scheduled in Hobart, Launceston and Ulverstone. For further information and to enrol into the exam, please visit www.propertyagentsboard.com.au/exams. Program pre-requisites Candidates must possess an adequate written and verbal grasp of the English language, suitable to both the AQF requirements, and the Employability Skills of the qualification they are undertaking. Course Content Unit Name CPPDSM4002A Apply knowledge of state or territory legislation and regulatory framework CPPDSM4010A Lease property CPPDSM4015B Minimise agency and consumer risk CPPDSM4022A Sell and finalise the sale of property by private treaty CPPDSM4080A Work in the real estate industry * Acts and regulations Assignments: There are 6 assignments which are recommended to be completed before a candidate should attempt to sit the Property Agents Board exam. Students need to allow a 2-4 week timeframe for assignment turn around. Course Completion For an additional cost of $132 (GST inclusive) the REIT will issue you with a Statement of Attainment for the above accredited units once: You are deemed competent in all your assignments Complete an interview with a Trainer where you will be verbally assessed via telephone on the contents of the course * Acts & Regulations unit does not form part of Nationally Recognised Training REIT Version 10 March 2017

Course Delivery In Class Classes are held over a period of 6 days-9.00am-5.00pm. Some evening courses are also available to attend. For further information please access our website www.reit.com.au. Course Cost: $950 Distance Learning A distance learning candidate may choose to receive the learning material:- as paper based manuals; or on online learning Course Cost OPTION 1 Paper based manual - $795 OPTION 2 Online learning delivery - $495 All course requirements must be completed within 4 months of the REIT providing the Distance Learning materials or the Online learning login & password for website access. To use the online learning package, the candidate will need access to a computer, the internet, Acrobat Reader and a printer. The course material takes the form of manuals and assessments in pdf format, which are downloaded from the REIT website. Assistance from tutors is available for distance learning candidates at an additional cost. The cost for tutoring is $88 (including GST) per hour or part thereof (i.e. a minimum 1hr charge). Candidates requiring tutoring will need to make an appointment through the REIT by phoning 6223 4769 or emailing james.jackson@reit.com.au. Traineeships There are 2 levels of traineeships available which are specifically tailored for the real estate industry. These are Certificate III and Certificate IV. The Certificate III qualification is primarily for people employed in an office support capacity and the Certificate IV for people working in property management or sales or as a personal assistant or an office manager. Each of these traineeships attracts financial incentives to employers of eligible trainees.
