SECTION 6 TERM AND CONDITIONS 1. Fees 1.1. Registration fee of 50 must be submitted together with the application form. 1.2. All fees must be paid prior to arrival (For example, administrative & service fees, airport pick-up fee, Travel & Medical Insurance, accommodation rental and accommodation deposit). Please do not send cash payments through post. 1.3. With regard to payment by installment, the following apply: All international students must pay their first year tuition fee in full prior to issue the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS). A nominal surcharge on course fees will be levied on late payment. Fee payment by installment as specified by the Finance Office will attract a nominal surcharge. 1.5. Registration fee is not transferrable, refundable and cannot be deferred. 1.6. Failure to settle outstanding fees within the prescribed period may result in exclusion from the University. 1.7. Any refund of fees or deposit, where applicable, will be at the discretion of the University s Finance office. 2. Terms and Conditions for Accommodation 2.1. Students have to make full payment before arrival in London. 2.2. Full payment of accommodation and deposit is needed in order to secure accommodation before arrival. 2.3. Accommodation deposit will not be refundable in the event of rejection of your UK visa application. 2.4. Accommodation deposit will be refunded upon completion of your stay in London, provided that no damage has been caused to respective accommodation unit during your stay. 3. Refund Policy 3.1. Once a student has fully enrolled, no refund is permitted or shall be made except in circumstances and situations where the University is advised in writing at least four weeks before the commencement date. This is at the discretion of the University. 3.2. No refund is permitted or shall be made when a student withdraws once classes have commenced. 3.3. In cases where a prospective student is refused a student visa, the University will refund all fees paid less a 150 administrative fee. However, in such an event, no refund will be made unless the University has received all original copies of University letters of enrolment including an original copy of refusal letter from the appropriate immigration authority. Refund will be processed on a case by case basis. 3.4. No refund is permitted or shall be made if a student enters the UK with a student visa obtained on the basis of the University s letter of acceptance and enrolment. 3.5. No refund is permitted or shall be made when a student decides to leave the University for whatever reason after an extension of student visa has been obtained through the University s facilitation. 3.6. Where it is proved that a prospective student has submitted a forged document (s) with a view to obtain entry clearance, such a prospective student will not have his or her fees refunded by the University. Whenever a student or prospective student decides to initiate a request for a refund, the request must be made in writing to the Registrar. Although the University will always endeavour to respond to refund requests with a sense of urgency under normal circumstances it takes up to six weeks to process a refund.
4. Withdrawal 4.1. Student must inform the Registrar in writing if they are withdrawing from a course of study. 4.2. Notice of withdrawal must be given one month prior to the commencement of the semester for a refund of course fees to be considered. The administrative charge of 100 will apply. 4.3. Please note that in the event of a student withdrawing from the University to join a different educational institution after registering and receiving the visa with the University s sponsor, an administrative charge of 500.00 is applicable for issuing a release letter. 4.4. In the event of a student failing to complete a course of study, the University is not obliged to return any part of the fees by or on behalf of the student. 5. Deferral 5.1. The student must apply to the Registrar in writing. Please note that this can only be granted in exceptional circumstances, usually medical, and only when a reassessment opportunity is available at a future date. No deferral is allowed after 14 days from the commencement date of the new semester. 5.2. In the event a deferral is granted, a deferral fee of 100.00 is payable. 5.3. Students who defer their studies should be aware that their current course cannot be guaranteed to resume following re-admission as if no interruption had occurred and that it is their responsibility to make themselves familiar with any changes in the course syllabus or assessment policy that may have taken place during their absence. 6. Transfer between courses 6.1. A student may transfer from one course to another within the University only with the agreement of the appropriate authorities. No transfer will be allowed after 14 days from the commencement date of a new semester. 7. Add/Drop Module(s) 7.1. Students must apply within 4 weeks from the date of semester commencement, and must obtain approval from programme leaders. 8. Rules and Regulations 8.1. All students must abide by the University Rules and Regulations (available in the student s handbook). Failure to do so may result in expulsion, suspension, private or public sanctions. 8.2. Any criminal activities on the University premises will be reported to the relevant authorities. 8.3. The University and its management will not be held responsible for any damages, losses or injuries arising from the course of studentship with the University. 8.4. The Disciplinary Board has the authority to suspend and/or expel any student behaving in a manner that affects the good name and the security of its staff and students. 8.5. The University reserves the right to revise the University Rules and regulation without prior notice. 9. The University reserves the right to accept or reject any application without assigning any reason. 10. Fees quoted in Pounds Sterling will be revised as and when the need arises due to the fluctuation of the current exchange rate. All students registering on any course of study at Limkokwing University of Creative technology are required to sign and return a notice of acceptance of the terms and conditions of any offer of a place made. In the unlikely and certainly exceptional circumstances that the signed form is unforthcoming or otherwise misplaced, misfiled, destroyed in error etc., any payment made on account of fees shall be construed as an acceptance.
