ASIA e UNIVERSITY Master of Business Administration (MBA) Programme Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) 1. Who is the provider of the MBA programme and from where will a graduate receive his/her degree after graduation? This MBA programme is offered and fully managed and supervised by Asia e University (AeU). At the end, AeU will issue the degree. 2. What are the entry requirements to the program? An applicant must have a Bachelor degree in any field from a recognized university. 3. What shall an applicant submit upon his/her application? An applicant shall submit the following documents upon his/her application: (a) The Bachelor degree certificate. (b) A copy of the passport. (c) A recent personal photo. (d) Recent CV. 4. Is it required that an applicant has a number of years of work experience to be admitted to the program? This is not an entry requirement. A fresh Bachelor graduate may apply for the Programme as well as an experienced one. 5. Is it required that a student sits for a TOEFL test as an entry requirement for the program? This is not an entry requirement. However, new applicants English language level may be tested to ensure minimum command of language. 6. At what time of the year are new applicants admitted to the program? New applicants can be admitted at the beginning of either the first, or the second semester; i.e. in February and September of the year. 7. What is the duration of the Programme? A student can choose from two options, fast track which enables the student to graduate in 1½ years, and regular track which enables him/her to graduate in 2 years (refer to Annex 1 for more details). 1
8. How are the classes scheduled? Classes for each course are conducted four times in a semester using WEBEX (a video-conference tool which is operated on PCs/Laptops). During the rest of the time, students are provided with self-study materials and supervised via tutors through emails. 10. What is the study methodology used in the MBA Programme? Blended-learning methodology is used where students attend the scheduled classes and use learning resources based on electronic course content featured on the AeU Learning Management System. 11. Is the AeU MBA Programme accredited and recognized locally and internationally? The Programme is accredited and recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education in Malaysia, as well as by Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA) which is a regionally and internationally reputed accreditation body based in Malaysia. However, this programme is studied as external programme for students in the Gulf countries and therefore is not associated with Minitries of Higher Education in this region. 12. What are the graduation requirements? Students must obtain at least grade C in each course and CGPA = 3.00/4.00 in order to be eligible to graduate out of the MBA Programme. Students who fail in meeting either condition must repeat a course or two to qualify for graduation. 13. What if a student could not obtain a CGPA of 3.00/4.00 after completing the courses? In this case, the student must repeat course(s) with low grades in order to uplift the CGPA to 3.00/4.00 and become eligible to graduate. 14. What if, after all, a student could not obtain a CGPA of 3.00/4.00? The student will be given an Executive Graduate Diploma (EGD) in Management if he/she has completed at least 6 courses with a grade C or better in each course and a CGPA not less than 2.00/4.00. 15. ANNEX 1 SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (MBA) PROGRAMME The Asia e University (AeU) MBA is designed to provide greater emphasis to develop business managers who understand how the real business works. The programme is developed to provide students with the content knowledge, analytical knowledge and the specialized knowledge which will enhance their competencies and provide them with greater opportunities to develop and advance their careers. PROGRAMME ADMISSION PROCEURE: Steps 1: The applicant should apply by emailing a scanned copy of: 1) Bachelor Certificate; 2) Passport; and 3) Personal Recent Photo, to menamanage@aeu.edu.my Step 2: AeU will email the Admission Letter to the applicant within 2 weeks from application date. Step 3: The applicant has to choose one of the two tracks of study shown below, and email his/her option to menamanage@aeu.edu.my ; AeU Registrar s office shall register courses for him/her accordingly. The applicant will be notified by email. Step 4: Once an applicant is notified about admission, he/she should immediately pay the fees according to the chosen track; registration will be activated once payment is made.
