IIM KASHIPUR MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME Advance Finance for Executives Programme Outline Over the years, the world of finance has increasingly become sophisticated and complex. This is, despite the fact that the subject is based on a few simple core principles. Finance, is also at the heart of all aspects of business functioning in all industries. All major business decisions involve aspects of financial decision-making and use of financial information. As a result, managers across all departments are getting involved directly and indirectly in resource-allocation role, in processes related to portfolio management, including capital allocation, capital-expenditure approval, and profit and loss management and working capital management. Managers across different functional units and shared services, are now being asked to do financial costing and benefit analysis for each of their proposed projects and to quantify bottom-line and top-line impact of their initiatives. Ascertaining ROI, preparing business case studies around major cost expenditures and preparing cost justification is becoming critical to justify expenditure for new initiatives. The financial decision making toolkit covered under the programme will give participants, a solid grounding in core principles of finance, after which they can easily understand more complex themes of financial management as well as the strategic dimensions of business. The unique IIM Kashipur and ICICIdirect Centre for Financial Learning Management Development Programme on Advance Finance for executives is aimed to demystify the complexity of finance for executives across departments and functional units. The programme deals with advanced topics in corporate finance such as advance financial statement analysis, risk and returns, analytics of working capital, receivables management, inventory management, credit policies etc. At the end of the programme the participants will be able to apply finance tools for preparing quantitative frameworks for managerial decision-making.
