Introduction Adams State University (ASU) Summer Scholars component is one of several services provided by the Student Support Services (SSS) program at Adams State University. Student Support Services is a grant funded program from the United States Department of Education and serves as a benchmark for all college success programs. It is praised for having the most consistent record of all college success programs for providing both access and success in higher education. Please check us out at https://www.adams.edu/students/sss/ The Summer Scholars component is an intensive three-week academic experience for up to 40 incoming first-year students. The primary purpose is to assist students as they transition from high school to college. Since 2004, our participants have succeeded at higher rates than many of their peers at ASU. Acceptance into Summer Scholars means acceptance into the SSS program for the duration of a student s academic career at ASU. The SSS Summer Scholars component will be held in July. All activities, with the exception of educational trips, will be held on the campus of Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado. The entire program is free to eligible students who are accepted. If you are interested, you must send a completed application to be considered.
