Moundsville West Virginia The Marshall County Board of Education met in regular session Tuesday,, 6:30 p.m., at the Board of Education Offices, all members having been notified of business to be considered. Present were: President Beth A. Phillips, Vice President Thomas E. Gilbert, Jr., Members Lori E. Kestner, John Miller, Dr. Duane Miller; Secretary Michael Hince, Members of the County Administrative Staff. Jessica Adams presented diplomas to TASC Graduates. Nick Zervos, Executive Director, gave the Board an update on RESA 6 services and explained all the services RESA provides to the counties within the district and offered for discussion of any questions. Woody Yoder, Director of Curriculum and Instruction explained STEM Education in Marshall County Schools. He outlined the courses that with be offered at JM, CH, SMS, MMS and Washington Lands Elementary. Minutes of the Regular Session, May 24, 2016, were approved on motion by Mrs. Kestner, and seconded by Vice President Gilbert. Motion carried. Page 4 Motion by Vice President Gilbert, and seconded by Mrs. Kestner, that the Board approve the feasibility study to be done by JSTA for the JM Stadium. Motion carried. Motion by Vice President Gilbert, and seconded by Dr. Duane Miller, that the Board give permission for the JM Athletic Boosters to place a sign at west entrance of Monarch Stadium near Route 2. Motion carried. Motion by Vice President Gilbert, and seconded by Mrs. Kestner, that the Board award bid for Oil/Water Separator at Transportation Center to Savage Construction Co., Wheeling, WV, for $46,690. Motion carried. Motion by Mrs. Kestner, seconded by Dr. Duane Miller and carried, that the Board approve the following out of county student transfers: Rachel Stamper to Ohio County Hannah Walker to Ohio County Motion by Vice President Gilbert, seconded by Mrs. Kestner and motion carried, that the Board approve the following professional meetings: Tammy Riding to attend Kidstrong Conference, June 21-22, 2016, Charleston, WV, with expenses paid by General Funds. Natalie Horner and Jean Ann Park to attend Linda Mood Bell Learning Processing, August 16-17, 2016, Pittsburgh, PA, with time expenses paid by Title I Funds.
