Applications are invited for the Entrance Examinations/Allotments for admission to the following Degree Courses in various Professional Colleges in the State for 2013-14. (a) Medical (i) BAMS (ii) BHMS (iii) BSMS (b) Agriculture (i) BSc. Hons. (Agriculture) (ii) BSc. Hons. (Forestry) (c) Veterinary BVSc. & AH (d) Fisheries BFSc. (e) Engineering B.Tech. [including B.Tech. (Agri. Engg.), B.Tech. (Food Engg.) Courses under the Kerala Agricultural University and B.Tech. (Dairy Science & Tech.) under the Kerala Veterinary & Animal Sciences University] (f) Architecture B.Arch. (Allotment & Admission only) (g) MBBS/BDS Allotment & Admission only Note:- Candidates satisfying the eligibility conditions as laid down in the Prospectus and who seek admission to all the above mentioned courses have to apply online on the website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations www.cee.kerala.gov.in The CEE will conduct separate Entrance Examinations for admission to Engineering and Medical (Except MBBS & BDS) Courses Allotments/ Admission to MBBS/BDS Courses The CEE will not conduct the Entrance Examination for admission to MBBS & BDS courses. Allotment / Admission to MBBS & BDS courses will be done based on the Kerala State Rank list of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Under Graduate) [NEET (UG)] provided by the CBSE. Candidates seeking admission to MBBS & BDS courses should write the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Under Graduate) [NEET (UG)] conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and obtain a valid rank in the Kerala State Rank list published by the CBSE for allotment / admission in the state. Such candidates should also apply online through the website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, www.cee.kerala.gov.in within the specified date mentioned in this notification. The Print out of the application along with necessary documents 1

including the copy of the Confirmation Page of NEET (UG) should reach the Office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations on or before the prescribed date. The candidates included in the Kerala State Rank list of NEET (UG) should satisfy their nativity condition as prescribed in Clause 6 of the KEAM 2013 Prospectus. Those who are not included in the Kerala State Rank list of NEET (UG) 2013 will not be considered for allotment / admission to MBBS & BDS courses. Allotment/Admission to Architecture Course: The CEE will not conduct any Entrance Examination for admission to B.Arch. course. However, candidates seeking admission to B.Arch. course should compulsorily appear and qualify the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the National Institute of Advanced Studies in Architecture (NIASA). Such candidates should also apply online through the website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, www.cee.kerala.gov.in within the specified date mentioned in this notification. 2. Eligibility for Admission: I. Nativity: Applicant should be an Indian citizen. Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)/Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card Holders will be treated on par with Indian citizens for the limited purpose of admission. Both Keralites and Non-Keralites are eligible to apply for the Entrance Examination. Applicants of Kerala origin will be categorized as Keralites and others will be categorized as Non-Keralites. Non-Keralites are classified as Non-Keralite Category-I and Non-Keralite Category-II. (A) Keralites :- A candidate of Kerala origin will be categorized as a Keralite. A candidate will be considered as a Keralite, for the limited purpose of eligibility for admission. Children of All India Service (AIS) officers (Non-Keralites) allotted to Kerala cadre are deemed to be Keralites. But they will not be eligible for Communal/Special/Persons with Disabilities reservation. Such Candidates should produce a certificate from the competent authority showing that the parent of the candidate is an AIS officer allotted to Kerala cadre. (B) Non-Keralite Category I (NK I) : A candidate who is not of Kerala origin but fulfils anyone of the following conditions will be categorised as 'Non-Keralite Category I'(NK I). (i) A candidate who has undergone qualifying course in Kerala and who is son/daughter of Non- Keralite parents belong to Government of India/Defence Service, posted to Kerala. (ii) A candidate who has undergone qualifying course in Kerala and who is son/daughter of Non- Keralite parents who are serving/served Government of Kerala for a minimum period of two years. (iii) A candidate who is not of Kerala Origin but has been a resident of Kerala State for a period of 5(five) years within the period of 12(twelve) years. (iv) A candidate who is not of Kerala Origin but who has undergone his/her school studies in Kerala from standard VIII to XII. 2

Non-Keralite Category I candidates will be considered against State Merit seats for Engineering/Medical & Allied courses and will not be eligible for Communal/ Special/Persons with Disabilities reservation. (C) Non-Keralite Category-II (NK II) :- Candidates who do not belong to the Keralite or Non- Keralite Category-I will be treated as Non-Keralite Category-II'. They are eligible for admission ONLY to the State Merit seats in the Private Self-financing Engineering Colleges in the State and in the Management Quota seats in Self-financing Engineering institutions under Government control. They will not be considered for admission against Communal/ Special/Persons with Disabilities reservation seats. II. Academic Qualification : (a) Medical & Allied Courses: (i) For MBBS/BDS Courses, the criteria of eligibility [Academic/NEET(UG)-2013] will be as notified by the CBSE for NEET(UG)-2013/Medical Council of India (MCI) from time to time. (ii) For admission to other Medical Courses (BAMS, BSMS, BHMS): Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or examinations recognised equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together, are eligible. In the absence of Biology, Biotechnology will be considered for the courses BAMS and BSMS. (iii) For admission to B.Sc.Hon(Agri), B.Sc.Hon(Forestry), BFSc courses: Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or examinations recognised equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together, are eligible. (iv) For admission to BVSc. & AH Course, candidates should have secured not less than 50% aggregate marks in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology for the qualifying examination, in addition to the condition as stipulated in clause 6.2.1(a(ii)) as per regulation 5 of Minimum standards of Veterinary Education Degree Course (BVSc & AH) Regulation, 1993. (v) Candidates who have passed the BSc Degree (Three year course) examination with Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany or Biotechnology as Main, and any one or two of the above subjects as Subsidiaries, with 50% marks for Main & Subsidiaries taken together, subject to the condition that they have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or examinations recognised as equivalent thereto with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects are eligible for admission to BAMS, BHMS & BSMS courses. (b) Engineering courses: [Including B.Tech (Ag. Engg.) and B.Tech (Food Engg.) courses under the Kerala Agricultural University and B. Tech (Dairy Sc. &Technology) under Kerala Veterinary & Animal Sciences University]. 3

(i) Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Mathematics separately, and 50 % marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together are eligible for admission (ii) Candidates who have Diploma in Engineering awarded by the Board of Technical Examinations, or an examination recognised equivalent thereto, by the State Board of Technical Education after undergoing an institutional course of at least 3 years from an Institution approved by AICTE, securing a minimum of 50% marks in the final year Diploma Examination are eligible for admission to the special reservation quota (DE) as shown in Clause 5.2.9. (iii) Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or examinations recognised as equivalent thereto, with 50 % marks in Mathematics/Biology separately, and 50 % marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology put together are eligible for admission to the seats reserved for Dairy Farm Instructors of Dairy Development Department for B.Tech. (D.Sc. & Tech). However, the candidates admitted to the course have to take a make-up course in Basic Mathematics (2+0) credits or Applied Biology (1+1) credit as the case may be. Note: 1. Diploma in Engineering is not recognised as the academic eligibility for admission to the Engineering Colleges affiliated to Kerala Agricultural University and Kerala Veterinary & Animal Sciences University. 2. The Vocational Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, has been recognised as equivalent to the Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala. 3. In the case of nominees of Government of India and nominees of reciprocal quota seats who are selected on the basis of the marks in the qualifying examination, the academic eligibility as specified in clause 6.2.2 (a) is applicable. (c) Architecture course : Minimum academic eligibility for admission to B. Arch. Course: (i) 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised Board with Mathematics as a subject of study by securing 50% marks in aggregate. OR 10+3 Diploma (any stream) recognised by Central/State Governments with 50% aggregate marks. OR International Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling, with not less than 50% marks in aggregate and with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination. (ii) In addition to the academic eligibility prescribed under clause 6.2.3 (a), only those candidates who score 40 % or 80 marks out of 200 (for all categories of candidates) in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) will be considered for admission to B. Arch. course. There is no relaxation in the minimum passing score of NATA to any category of candidate. (iii) There is no provision for lateral admission to the second year or at any stage during the 5 year course in Architecture. (iv)candidates who have a Diploma in Engineering awarded by the Board of Technical Examinations, or an examination recognized equivalent thereto, by the State Board of Technical Education after undergoing an institutional course of at least 3 years from an Institution approved by AICTE securing a minimum of 50% marks in the final year Diploma Examination are eligible for admission to B.Arch. Course. 4

Candidates seeking admission to B.Arch. course should also submit the Application form to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations. There is no State level Entrance Examination for this purpose. However such candidates should write the National Aptitude Test for Architecture and should forward the NATA score and mark list of the qualifying examination to the CEE on or before the specified date. III. Relaxation in marks: Socially and Educationally Backward Classes Candidates whose annual family income is not more than Rs.4.5 lakhs as per GO(P) No.208/66/Edn. Dated.02/05/1966 and amendments thereof are eligible for relaxation in marks in the qualifying examination. (a) For admission to MBBS/BDS Courses the criteria of relaxation in marks for SEBC/SC/ST and PD candidates in the qualifying examination will be as notified by the CBSE for NEET(UG)-2013/MCI from time to time. However, the inclusion of candidates under SEBC,SC/ST and PD categories will be as per Clauses 5.4.2, 5.4.3 and 5.3 respectively of KEAM 2013 Prospectus, provided that they are included in the Kerala State Rank list of NEET (UG)-2013. (b) For all courses except MBBS/BDS, the SEBC candidates and PD candidates with Locomotory disability of lower limbs between 40% and 70% will have a relaxation of 5% marks in the qualifying examination. They need only 45% marks in the case of Mathematics separately and 45% marks for optional subjects put together for admission to Engineering courses and 45% marks in optional subjects put together for Medical & Allied courses. The Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates need only a pass in the qualifying examination. Provided that in cases where only grades are given for qualifying examination and marks are not mentioned, the grade covering 45% marks will be considered as criterion for eligibility. The relaxation of marks in the qualifying examination extended to SEBC candidates only will be applicable to OEC candidates even if they are allotted against the un-availed seats of SC/ST quota. IV. Age : The candidate should have completed 17 years of age as on 31 st December, 2013. 3. Schedule for the Entrance Examinations : The Entrance Examinations will be held at all the District Centres in Kerala, New Delhi and Dubai (UAE), on the dates mentioned below as per Indian Standard Time (IST). Engineering Entrance Examination (For Engineering courses except Architecture) 22.04.2013 Monday 10.00 am to 12.30 pm Paper-I : Physics & Chemistry. 23.04.2013 Tuesday 10.00 am to 12.30 pm Paper-II: Mathematics. Medical Entrance Examination (For BAMS / BHMS / BSMS / Agriculture / Veterinary / Fisheries Courses) 24.04.2013 Wednesday 10.00 am to 12.30 pm Paper-I : Chemistry & Physics. 25.04.2013 Thursday 10.00 am to 12.30 pm Paper-II: Biology. 4. Website for submitting Online Application : www.cee.kerala.gov.in (a) Online submission of application is required to apply for the Entrance Examinations/Allotments for admission to all the courses (Medical, Engineering and Architecture) Candidates should send only one application for all courses under KEAM 2013 and for MBBS & BDS (NEET UG). If a candidate submits more than one application his/her candidature is liable to be cancelled. 5

(b) All candidates are required to apply online through the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in for the Entrance Examinations/Allotments for admission to Medical, Agriculture, Veterinary, Fisheries, Engineering and Architecture Courses. (c) Application Fee : General candidates SC/ST candidates - Rs.700/- - Rs.350/- Candidate can pay application fee in either of the two following methods: (i) Security Card: Security Card, Prospectus and an envelope can be obtained from selected Post Offices in Kerala and outside the State, on payment of the prescribed fee (Rs.700/- or Rs.350/- as the case may be), by cash. List of Post Offices that issue Security cards and Prospectus is appended to this notification. Security card will not be available at the Office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations. The Security card consists of a KEY NUMBER, which is inside the Security panel and not visible before scratching the silver panel. There is a Serial Number on each Security card. The Key number and Serial Number are unique and are required for filling up of payment details while registering online application. (ii) Demand Draft: Application fee can be paid by way of Demand Draft (DD) drawn on a Nationalized/Scheduled Bank, in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram. Note:- Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates whose annual family income is below Rs.40,000/- can have Security Card, Prospectus and Envelope at free of cost from the District Offices of the Scheduled Tribes Development Department on production of Community Certificate and Income Certificate. (d) Security Card Distribution Centres: The Security Card, Prospectus and Envelope bearing the address of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations will be distributed from 14.01.2013 to 08.02.2013 through selected branches of Post Offices in Kerala and outside the State. The amount towards the fee of application is to be remitted in cash at the Post Offices. (e) Candidates opting DUBAI (UAE) as the Centre: Candidates who choose DUBAI as their centre for Entrance Examinations, should remit an amount of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only), as Centre fee along with the print out of their application, by way of Demand Draft drawn on a Nationalized Bank in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram. Such candidates should enclose Demand Drafts for Rs.700/- as Application fee and Rs.10,000/- as centre fee along with the application. The candidates opting Dubai centre should note that the examinations are conducted as per Indian Standard Time (IST). 5. Last date and time for receipt of the Print out of the Application : The Print out of the Application and other relevant documents to be submitted with the Application are to be sent in the printed envelope bearing the address of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, so as to reach him before 5 p.m. on 09.02.2013 (Saturday), by Hand Delivery/Registered Post/Speed Post. Applications will be received in the Office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations on holidays also. 6

6. Belated Applications : Belated applications will be rejected. Candidates are therefore advised to apply well in advance. The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations will not be responsible for any postal delay. 7. Admit Card: The Admit Cards of Entrance Examinations can be downloaded from the website ww w.cee.kerala.gov.in from 25 th March 2013. The printout of the admit card thus obtained will have to be produced at the time of examination. Admit Cards will not be sent by post from this office to the candidate. 8. Defective applications: No memo will be sent by post in the case of defective applications. The defects in the applications will be displayed on the homepage of the candidate while attempting to download the admit card. Defects if any, should be rectified within the dates specified in the notification pertaining to the download of admit cards. 9. Fee concession/scholarship: Candidates belonging to Keralite category and who wish to be considered for any fee concession/scholarship/any other benefit based on the annual family income, that may be announced by the Government/College/Admitting authority at any time after the submission of application, should submit the income certificate from the concerned authorities in the prescribed format, at the time of submission of application itself, to avail of such concessions. Income certificates attached separately or produced after submission of application will not be considered for granting any such concession. The Entrance Examinations and the subsequent allotments will be based on the various provisions laid down in the Prospectus approved by the Government. Prospectus for the KEAM Entrance Examinations 2013 is available on the website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, www.cee-kerala.org.
