Examination Guidelines Please refer to the Student Handbook 2017, page 27 36, for the instructions for candidates taking internal examination. With reference to the SEAB instructions for school candidates taking national examination in 2017, the following instructions will be added on to the instructions for candidates taking internal examination: 1) It is compulsory for candidates to sit for all registered components of a subject. Components include Oral, Listening Comprehension, Coursework, Practical and Written Papers. Candidates will be issued 'Absent for a subject if they are absent from one or more components of that subject unless they have been granted prior exemption for the component(s) by the examining authority. 2) Special Consideration (SC) and arrangement for sick candidates: a) Students who sit for the examination (be it Written / Oral / Listening etc) may apply for SC. All applications must be submitted to the school, not more than 3 days after the examination. b) If the application for SC is for a missed paper, the candidate must have completed a minimum of 50% of the total assessment of the subject. The applications must be supported by a medical report / statement from a qualified medical practitioner or relevant supporting documents (e.g. death certificate). The medical report / statement must clearly state the doctor's diagnosis and certify that the candidate was unfit for examination. Medical certificate without the doctor's diagnosis is not a valid supporting document. A separate SC Application Form is required for each subject. c) The SC Application Form must be submitted together with the supporting medical report / statement to the CPE through the Form Teacher. d) The applications for SC are subjected to the Exam Committee approval.
