ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR SENIOR COLLEGE PROGRAM About the Program The undergraduate program in psychology at Lehman College is intended to serve three principal objectives: 1. to contribute to the liberal education of all students by providing an understanding of psychology as a science and as a profession; 2. to provide an understanding of psychological principles and techniques for those students interested in work in other behavioral and social sciences and in professional fields such as education, social work, and medicine; and 3. to establish a sound foundation for those planning to pursue graduate studies in psychology that can lead to careers in college teaching, scientific research, clinical psychology, and school psychology or to professional work in industry, government, and social agencies. Admissions and Applications Application Deadlines: Spring Admissions-September 15, Fall Admissions-February 1 CUNY Transfer Application is available online at www.cuny.edu CUNY Application Processing Center: 212.997.CUNY Progression at Lehman To earn a Bachelor s Degree at Lehman College, CUNY Associate Degree graduates need to: complete the courses required for the major/minor two upper-division interdisciplinary courses one writing intensive course (satisfied with PSY 305) and elective courses if needed. Determination of the 90 Liberal Arts credits required for the baccalaureate degree in accordance with New York State Education Department requirements will be made by Lehman College. Associate in Arts Degree from Bronx Community College. Bronx Community College graduates with the Associate Degree in Liberal Arts / Psychology Option will receive 60 credits toward the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Herbert H. Lehman College. Total transfer credits granted toward the baccalaureate degree: 60 Total additional credits required at the senior college to complete baccalaureate degree: 60 1
